On another more positive note, indie gaming has never been better. 2024 had so many good releases like Balatro and Nine Sols and the early access to Hades 2 is looking promising. This combined with so many other great smaller releases are why I recommend indie games to everyone.

It's not even worth comparing Marvel Avengers characters with cosplayers, because even cosplayers do a better job than Crystal Dynamics, there are cosplays that are so perfect that it looks like the character came out of their work and into the real world.

That ultra fixation on making every character look realistic for the sake of being able to have people identify themselves to the character is killing so many games. Making cap america look like a regular middle age american dude instead of a super soldier on steroids ain't gonna make me feel better about having a belly myself nor is gonna make me like him better. Sure, I would love to see more characters kinda look like me, a latin dude not from mexico or brasil, but I'll rather see new characters with actually cool, badass or sexy looks over having them grab some well known white guy from comics or shows and race swap them AND make them look ugly af.
