China has a vast territory and rich resources, All American food is available in China. Moreover, Chinese restaurants are very cheap and you can eat there every day without tipping. This is incredible! It is very annoying that a 15% tip is mandatory in American restaurants. China is very free. You can go out on the streets to drink and eat barbecue at 2 o'clock in the morning.

The Jing'an temple is Buddhism. Interestingly, many Chinese people don't explicitly distinguish Buddhism from Chinese traditional culture because they recognize this buddhist culture as part of the Chinese traditions. Also most people going to the temple are not necessarily Buddhism believers, but only there to wish for better luck and fortune (or just as tourists).

Yes. Chinese culture is mostly impacted by Confucius, Buddhism, and Taoism, along with some other schools of ancient Chinese philosophy. They are all blended and have become part of the culture.
@BumbleBreezeee
@BumbleBreezeee Ай бұрын
Buddhism has a long history in China, going back centuries, even predating the establishment of many modern countries. Over time, it has deeply integrated with other cultural elements to form a unique cultural heritage within China. This makes it undeniably part of traditional Chinese culture. While it’s true that many visitors aren’t necessarily practicing Buddhists, Buddhism welcomes all visitors equally-whether they’re there to pray, seek blessings, or simply explore. This inclusivity is a key aspect of its role in Chinese society.

@@MrJacksuper I agree and also disagree with you. If you're not a human rights activist, a lawyer, a journalist or a netizen who is trying to expose the bad and uglier side of the society. Then everyday is just as mundane or busy. If you're a nobody, why would the CCP be really bothered with you, unless you broke the local law and got arrested. Only diplomats may see the higher up officials. China has this mentality where they want to present well to the outsiders while also wanting to know your every move (lol, mass surveillance system, paperwork about your movement in the country and ofc the new registration law). Most tourists are treated like guests, but netizens and locals get really easily offended if the country gets criticized (This is extremely similar to India where locals may have an ego or esteem issue of people's criticism so they tend to gaslight you about the not so 'presentable' side of the country, even though they themselves criticize certain aspects of the country or system behind closed doors all the times, they may think it's non of your business, because nationalism is REALLY strong and suddenly you may feel like a warm welcome turning into a xenophobic dystopia) I have seen that ALL the time where visitors suddenly got cyber bullied by a bunch of politically motivated bots. If you have a death wish, go to Xinjiang and say something bad about it and see online reaction. Additionally they are also very curious about people of different skin colours, so you may feel like you are the "Panda" who's on exhibition. Africans or African decent Westerners may even get more attention to the point of crowd gathering for photos sometimes.

Visit some ancient towns like Lijiang, Zhouzhuang, Wuzhen, Fenghuang (Phoenix), Furong ancient towns. Also visit the ancient capitals such as Xi’an and Luoyang (each was capital of 13 dynasties including the golden ages Han Dynasty and Tang Dynasty), Nanjing and Beijing (Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties), Kaifeng (Northern Song Dynasty), Hangzhou, Guangzhou (capital of the Nan Yue (Nam Viet in Vietnamese) Kingdom founded by General Zhao Tuo sent by Qin Shihuang of the Qin Dynasty, which began the 1000 years rule of the Sinospheric culture Vietnam until the Tang Dynasty. “Vietnam” comes from reversing the two Chinese characters for the Nan Yue (Nam Viet) Kingdom into Viet Nam. Japan, Korea and Vietnam are collectively called the Sinosphere. Japanese culture is a replica of the Tang Dynasty. Korean culture is the replica of the Ming Dynasty (Korea was a Ming Dynasty vassal state). Google search for “Japanese missions to imperial China” and “Japanese missions to Tang Dynasty”. Nara and Kyoto were built based on the layout of Xi’an (formerly Chang’an), the capital of the Tang Dynasty, when the envoys to the Tang Dynasty returned to Japan in its contemporary Nara Period and Heian Period, applying everything they had learned, resulting in sudden blossoming of “Japanese culture” in those two contemporary periods of the Tang Dynasty. So to revisit the authentic original “Japanese culture”, visit the Tang Dynasty capitals Xi’an and Luoyang. To revisit the authentic “Korean culture”, visit the Ming Dynasty capitals Nanjing and Beijing. Nanjing was also the capital of the Republic of China founded in 1911 when Dr. Sun Yat Sen overthrew the Qing Dynasty with the Xinhai Revolution. There are Five Great Mountains in China: Hua Shan 华山 in Shaanxi province in the west (Shan = Mountain) in the west, Tai Shan 泰山 in Shandong province in the east, Heng Shan 衡山 in Hunan province in the south, Heng Shan 恒山 (with a different character for Heng) in Shanxi province in the north and Song Shan 嵩山 in the middle in Henan province. There are Four Great Ancient Capitals: Xi’an, Luoyang, Nanjing, Beijing, and added two more Kaifeng and Hangzhou to make up the Six Great Capitals of China. There are Eight Major Regional Culinary Styles in China: Guangdong (Cantonese) (Yue), Fujian (Min), Sichuan, (Shu), Zhejiang (Zhe), Jiangsu (Jiang), Shandong (Lu), Anhui (Hui), and Hunan (Xiang) cuisines. There are Four Great Chinese classics: Journey to the West (Sun Wukong the Monkey became the prototype to Son Goku in Dragon Ball), Romance of the Three Kingdoms (based on the Three Kingdoms Period that came after the Han Dynasty; Japan makes a lot of anime and video games based on this classics), Dream of the Red Mansion, Water Margin. China is the inventor country for chopsticks, tea, rice, rice wine, rice noodles fen (pho in Sino-Vietnamese), dumplings, soy sauce, doufu (tofu in Sino-Japanese), miso, mocha (matcha in Sino-Japanese), hotpot, koi fish, cherry blossom trees, weiqi (game of go in Japanese), penzai (bonsai in Sino-Japanese), paper folding art (paper is one of the Four Great Chinese Inventions along with compass, gunpowder and printing), char siu (chashu in Sino-Japanese and xa xiu in Sino-Vietnamese), zhajiangmian (jjajangmyon in Sino-Korean), lamian or pulled noodles (ramen in Sino-Japanese), etc. Google search for their origins. It’s a lot of information to absorb, but so you can understand the cultural and historical backgrounds for a lot of locations that you visit. China only comes Italy in having the most UNESCO sites in the world. Google search for UNESCO sites in China and pay them a visit. China has Four Autonomous Ragions: Xinjiang, Xizang (Tibet), Ningxia, and Inner Mongolia. China has 56 ethnic groups with Han Chinese (named after the Han Dynasty) being the most populous ethnicity in both China and the world. China has four direct administrative cities: Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing and Tianjin. China has three special administrative regions applying the One Country, Two Systems because they were former colonies: Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. Greetings from Los Angeles from a Chinese American born in Guangzhou and raised in USA. 🎉🎉❤❤
