I think the length of these videos depends greatly upon the song that they are using. Since they had lyrics at first. Yeah this China version looks lack of effort (probably more difficult to get materials than Japan) to me. I was expecting to see more rich changes from traditional to modern (the pre 1950s missed hair deco and costumes), between rich and regular (almost only movie stars curl their hair like that during 20s to 40s), communist-controlled region and the rest (the 80s and 90s look more Hong Kong than mainland to me) and then 2000s the pop culture merges again.

Chinese hair and makeup actually was just as wild and crazy as any Western country during the 1980s, as one can see from old pictures and movies. For some reason in this video, they made it a lot more tame and added those out-of-place glasses.

The glasses thing was very popular among young people in India too. I think the crazy things were done by people who were on the screen and glasses one was for normal people (I suppose?). I have loads of pictures of my mom wearing those type of glasses in the late 80s.

+samislit hahaha yeah right about the glasses thing. when my dad was 21 years old lad in India 1985, I saw a pic of him with shaggy hair and wore thick glasses and he grew a thin moustache. I may consider his fashion sense weird back then, but as of today, myself at the age of 21, I pose the similar 2010 look of the USA men version, but mine is a top knot, however, my dad disagrees with my sense of fashion :P

+Slashplite Not really, most of these video are not accurate, take India for example, it has the most diverse ethnic and tribal groups but most of them were not reflected in the video. Most of the videos are just a general overview of the fashion and look of that period.
