I tried the Chinese HSR last year when I went from HK to GZ to SH and back to HK. I am going to assume the major HSR stations in China have this type of look? I'll give it 10/10 for functionality but looks wise, it is kinda bland lol. It's just a square box, you get the same restaurants on the upper level on both sides and boarding is on either end (depending which car you're in). But at least it gets the job done. When i flew into HK, went to West Kowloon station to ride the HSR there, it was like going through a puzzle, checkpoint after checkpoint, i didn't know when would i get to the waiting area lol. Compare that to my experience using GZ South and Hongqiao Railway station. Both have this simple box like design like the one in the video. Once i walk in, get through the security at the doors, that's when I know I am there and i get take my time to get to my gate.

Yeah a lot of train stations have the same design from the inside. Agree with West Kowloon Station, a beautiful building but easy to get lost in there and quite a walk from the metro station. The 2 border inspections are also quite far from each other but at least the mainland side is in Kowloon as well..
