China's high speed train network is the longest in the world. Nearly all of it was built in recent year on new tracks and using brand new train stations. Most stations are built on the same model. however, we can distinguish between stations in large cities and stations in smaller towns.
We have produced a large number of videos to explain most key stations but not all. This video gives a generic overview of these stations built from clips taken all over Chine.
This video will help on what to expect when you go to China and travel by train.
Visit our channel for all our videos about train travel in China.

Just adding information, every station might could have different layout. Changsha station for example, waiting room and restaurant is located at same floor.

Right. As we say in the text, there is a good difference between those in big cities and smaller towns for example.

Daniel Li Daniel Li I'm sorry about that. Chinese men love smoking very much. Smoking is not allowed on high-speed trains and stations, so most of them smoke in the station's toilets.

Meanwhile in Germany, you don't even have to pass through a gate or through security to get to the high speed train. The Chinese procedures seem kind of unnecessary and seem to just add additional stress from our viewpoint.

@Kin FR L How is it a dumb comment? Also what is the point of your comment?
@hong3170
@hong3170 5 жыл бұрын
I understand your point. But You have to understand the Chinese volume and also people are not as well manner as in Germany. I used to travel the whole Germany by railway. It was great by interrail. No reservation needed. I can run to catch a train even just have 2 minutes left. If in China the railway stations open the platforms to everybody, there will be many accidents like the one just happened in Germany last month. Someone will be pushed into the track.

check what happened at Kunming rail station several years ago. passengers got killed by terrorists and since then security check is strictly required. it's very necessary

The rigorous security and ticket control gives a certain "state paranoia" vibe, like without it the country would go into social and political chaos or worse, freedom of speech and thought.

Strange logic. Actually security is a joke at train stations. Security at airports in the US is so much more strict. Any link with freedoms in the US? Just showing that your logic is flawed besides being factually incorrect.

I notice that u mentioned history education in China and Korea is different with Japan. I'm curious that what's the main difference between them and what's ur view of history in Japan. I'm ABC myself, and from what I learned in US they seems to have their right to hate u for the time before and during wwII.
