China's 2016 sporting stars shine at CCTV Sports Awards

The CCTV Sports Personality of the Year awards ceremony was held at the Water Cube in Beijing on Sunday evening. China’s women’s volleyball team, which won a third gold at the Rio Olympics this past summer to go along with triumphs in 1984 and 2004, were the biggest winners on the night by collecting four awards at the lavish gala. Chinese table tennis player Ma Long and volleyball star Zhu Ting were voted the Best Male and Female Athletes of the Year 2016 respectively.
