I am an ordinary employee of China Railway. Let me tell you the real key to high-speed railway: track is everything. If the train wants to travel at high speed, the track must be as straight as possible, which requires tunnel bridge technology. The reason why China's high-speed rail has developed so rapidly is that in the 1960s and 1970s, we kept digging caves to prevent Soviet invasion, and China's bridge technology has always been the world's top since ancient times. With a track that is closer to a straight line, the next is signal, electricity, and locomotives. The Japanese are only ahead in locomotives, and there is a big gap with China in high-voltage power transmission and transformation, signal control and dispatching. Of course, there is also manufacturing cost. China has a full industrial chain. The above are the keys to the rapid development of China's railways. 发送反馈 侧边栏 历史记录 已保存

The top 3 fastest trains in the world had already been Chinese trains with the Shanghai Maglev in first place at 460 km/h. This "conventional" train will now operate at maglev speeds. Previous conventional bullet trains from China broke the max speed record at 483 km/h but that is in a test environment. China is also testing a new maglev which clocked around 623 km/h in 2023 but has surpassed that speed since then. Japan's current fastest train operates at 32 0km/h and they are also testing out a new maglev which operated at 502 km/h.

It is one of the fruits of our wise and thoughtful decisions to ally ourselves with China. We get a lot, actually. Unlike the QUAD, India get, nothing! Not even that nuclear submarine they offer to Australia. If India is smart enough, and earn China's trust, perhaps India can enjoy the benefits too. But consider India's attitude in the recent years, it will be hard for India to earn anyone's trust. Unlike India whose relationships are just about, interests. Relationships are about sincerity. Little information on High speed rail for Indians who jump up and down. Read on: Trains travelling above 300 km/h sounds cool until they aren't when looked at differently. Here's why 1) When a train has to travel such high speeds it draws enormous amount of power from the electric grid. Unless you have designed the grid for such power draw you can't have high speed rail. This also increases operational costs. If the people are willing to pay high ticket prices then no problem. 2) High speeds incur lot of wear and tear on moving parts of the train. This leads to changing of these parts every 500K to 1 million kilometers. These moving parts are very expensive and thus leads to higher operating costs. 3) There is a reason countries which first developed high speed rail are not looking to increase the speed. Japan, Germany, France, Italy, Spain all have trains capable of above 300 km/h. They only operate at such high speeds on only dedicated routes where the traffic is high. Otherwise most of the time trains run below 300 km/h. India should target passenger rail at 250 km/h. Focus on sustainability, comfort, profitability, reliability, safety, and security rather than only speed.

In France trains run at 320 kmph. The trains are limited because the tracks in other European countries have not been upgraded.
@ajaykumarsingh7023 күн бұрын
Only tiny ass countries do that.😂 China is massive and their tracks are above 58000 km in length. I won't call that few dedicated routes. China is in a hyper advanced stage and there is no denying that at this point.

Spoken like a true politician. Only excuses... no work. If operational cost is so high then why does Japan has most of its high-speed trains running at over 320 kph? Get some education first. In most European Countries they have their own high-speed networks like TGV in France and Inter-City Express (ICE) in Germany to name a few. Anything done at scale automatically reduces the cost. It's called Economies of Scale and if a high speed train can just be half or 1/3rd as fast as a plane with half the ticket price... why wouldn't people pay for it?
@gotfan77433 күн бұрын
@@GurkiratXSingh I challenge you to prove your statement of Japan, Germany, France running all their trains at top speed of over 300 km/h on every route. And also I challenge you to prove my first 2 statements wrong. Your claim that economics of scale somehow can negate simple physics is laughable.

@@ajaykumarsingh702 So how profitable China's high speed rail is then? Have you seen their numbers? Just because they did does not mean we should do it too. Do what is best for our country and allocate economic resources efficiently. Having a HSR between Delhi and Mumbai running at 320 km/h? Great. Now don' tell me running a HSR between Patna and Lucknow is a good use of economic resources.

As much as I love bullet trains, building, operating and maintaining them in India is gonna be a huge challenge. It is not going to be feasible to operate them in India. Sure we need infrastructure mainly high speed rail, not saying to not build highways like Dhruv Rathee, but the transport should be efficient, sustainable, and affordable at the same time. First of all the existing railways are in poor condition and only some people could afford to travel in Vande Bharat trains that too in less average speed. And the Indian economy is doing poorly, and if India needs revenue, they should invest heavily in manufacturing sector, and science and technology, instead of solely relying on taxpayers money. China's economy is already huge and they have their own preferences, India should solve the existing problems first.

Why always India compete with China? China's GDP is five times that of India. China's trade surplus in 2023 is $820 billion, while India's trade deficit is $240 billion. Japan is the one India should strive to catch up with.
