At least Japan and Singapore's demographics started to age when they have become developed nations (in subjective term). Others are not so lucky, especially in SEA where we have average birth rate at replacement already but only Singapore is developed.

@@ssuwandi3240 If your population is aging before your country is developed, the risk of being trapped in the middle income state (also known as "middle income trap") is greater. If it sets in then the country may not see the light of being developed, with the corresponding high income that its population can enjoy, for a foreseeable future. Of course someone can simply say "who cares" but a country's administration certainly cares since it's their burden to make sure that the people are prosperous.

@@hitthedeck4115 in those countries that you must envy the people fight when the government ignores their jobs. You can see it in the US, UK and France now. They care because they love the country more than money or label. The poverty has reached the highest level and that's the reason nobody cares on the label. But will you fight for your country to better the society, that's a very different story only you can honestly answer and perhaps just take action more and complain less

An aging population whose country is still in the developing stage has to work extra hard to bring it to a developed stage due to having less people in the working age bracket. So I'm glad that you said that you will fight.

There is no need to fear getting old or being old. Keep up to date with gadgets, keep learning to keep your brain active. Age is just a number. Your reaction to aging is all that matter.

Japan is encountering even more serious demographic problems for aging population though, their median age 50 vs Singapore 43 vs China 39 according to Wikipedia, why CNA targeted China not somewhere else in asia?

The problems for China are the retirement fund. It is depleting fast and will run out in less than 10 years' time. The retirees' biggest asset are their properties. The property prices have plunged more than 60 %. They have brought down into the drain. The few hundred thousands Chinese tourists coming into Singapore are nothing compared with 600 million poor oppress Chinese earning below 1000 yuan per month. Portion of Chinese tourists are female social escorts coming here to sell illegally, nothing to be boastful about. Some of them come here for money laundering. 10 were caught and sentence to jail.

@timeseeker-op8zg Not sensitive information, bro. China policy makers have been giving the same warning for 5 years straight. According to a 2019 report by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, basic pension assets for urban employees may be depleted by 2035. Rural workers are covered by a separate retirement program.

Problem with China is no one can afford these gadgets. If you visit this exhibition when the media had left there are no paid attendees to these shows. It is as empty as Xiong An new area near Beijing.
