@gustav63 In Medieval Europe the ability to speak and write Latin is a status of good education. And you can find the roots of many English words came from Latin and Greek. I'm only asking why Koreans used Chinese characters for such a long time while they think it's barbaric? Does that mean Koreans love barbaric languages? P.S. it's intersting to see how you define the word "respect", it really shows how well educated you are.

@gustav63 First, there are different input system for chinese characters which is based on the order of the strokes. Second, Confucianism has been a part of the Korean culture, this is just a simple fact that you can't deny although you don't like it. When you disgracing chinese characters you are disgracing your OWN ancestors who were glad to use them for thousands of years.
