focus on high tech featuring advanced technological and scientific achievements, such as
artificial intelligence and cybernetics. China has many cities that fit this genre. The aerials are the best yet. This is a new genre of CyberPunk Cities that shows the future. Focused on the advancement of China in the last 40 years to the future. Clean cities, AI, technology, and the advancement of infrastructure. Unlike sci-fi dystopian cities of the future, these cities are in harmony with their society without the breakdown of values, individualist ideology, poverty, crime, conflict, and destruction. China has many mega cyberpunk cities like Chongqing, Guangzhou and an amazing blade runner style of buildings. Cyberpunk 2077 takes direction from these Chinese futuristic cities.

I was born and raised in China. I’ve been taking these for granted cuz I could see these Cyber punk scenes in nearly every city I’ve been to. Even if I was living in China, Western media got me brainwashed too. Until I came to the US 3 years ago, I realized I made a huge mistake taking all those for granted. Everlasting road construction in America taught me that the roads are not always wide and smooth effortlessly, that high speed train are not built effortlessly. Americans has taught me that they don’t seem to welcome me like how I welcomed them in China. Soon enough, America has taught me how to love China again, effortlessly.

What's more amazing is that whether you are locals or foreigners you will never have to be afraid to go out and come back late at night in risk of being threatened at gun point, stabbed or rob by any strangers. I can attest to this as an expat who worked and live in China for more than 10 years across 6 different cities. This is not necessarily an utopia but it is definitely where I appreciated part of my life having spent in this great country.

Actually China is a great place for filming. You can have cyberpunk views in cities like these, and there’s also a lot of peculiar landforms for fiction movies like Avatar, which was filmed in and based on the natural sceneries in ZhangJiaJie. I can even relate some of the movies’ shots of Mars or other planets to sceneries in GanSu province. Pure beauties and master pieces of nature, and together with those futuristic giant cities, that’s why China is mysteriously attractive isn’t it?

Not only the west, but the north, east and south too. The only exception is Africa and North Korea, and that is because China keeps throwing money at them. Now keep an open mind. The reason is very simple. It's the way the government of China acts, not their people. Their government threatens several other countries like Taiwan, Australia, Usa, India etc, locks up the rich and innocent Uyghur muslims, supresses and assimilates hong kong forcefully, instills paranoia in their own people and supresses their free speech. USA for an example has done things similar to the above, but not close to the degree China currently does, and when the bad grows big to such an extent that it overshadows the good, people simply stop liking that person, or country for that matter. You have probably met people like that too. It's the same for countries. China may be prosperous and peaceful, but it's heart is frozen cold.

China is causing LOTS of tensions in the south china sea. USA for the most part just patrols around the place to flaunt their power.
