Some people appreciate nomadic culture, at the same time bash Chinese government and saying it has nothing to do with preserving Mongolian culture. Do you know how hard it is to live a semi nomadic lifestyle? Do you know how much money Chinese government spend to preserve minority culture so people can live there old ways but still make enough money to live in modern society? Stop being childish. You try to live like that and don’t get any kind government support. Native Americans today struggle to preserve the little cultures they still has left and what did they get? Not even water pipes.

Went to Inner Mongolia in 2014 for 2 weeks +. The cities, people n food are amazing! Visited Hohhot, Ordos n few others..blew my mind. There is also the Great Wall n Yellow River passing through there. In Hohhot accidentally bumped into the Arab Palace with buffet of 1000 dishes! Streets are straight, clean, did not encounter traffic jams. Amazing, fond memories still in my mind after 8 years. Wish I can revisit more times in future. This video brought nice memories. Many friends in the comment area are comparing the economic gap between Outer Mongolia and Inner Mongolia. Let me say a little bit of my personal opinion. It's not that the people of Outer Mongolia don't work hard or work hard. It's not that they are born to only raise livestock.Rather, the entire national economic structure of Outer Mongolia is too single. It is mainly mineral exports, which are greatly affected by fluctuations in the international market. Moreover, in the international market, the buyer sets the price and the buyer sets the rules. There are many options for the same mineral. Mongolia does not have pricing power over mineral exporters. Moreover, the lack of "economic internal circulation" in Outer Mongolia means that the domestic market is limited and more commodities cannot be consumed. Commodity exports are not competitive. And after the independence of Outer Mongolia. The former Soviet Union defined Outer Mongolia as a buffer zone with China. What was transferred to Outer Mongolia was mining and some basic heavy industries. As the mining base of the Soviet industrial system. Therefore, the industry in Outer Mongolia has been very "partial" since the founding of the People's Republic of China. Not enough light industry to back it up. A large number of light industrial products depend on imports. After the disintegration of the Soviet Union, there was no "Committee for Mutual Economic Assistance", and the economy of Outer Mongolia plummeted. In addition, Outer Mongolia is overly dependent on Russia politically and economically. (After all, it was the Soviet Union that transformed the current Outer Mongolia. It expelled and killed the religious leaders and clergy in Outer Mongolia. Even the Mongolian characters were transformed. Even the brass Buddha statues in the Gandan Monastery in Ulaanbaatar were destroyed Smashed and shipped to the USSR for copper smelting) On the other hand, Russia was overwhelmed after the 1990s. It also relies heavily on resource exports. In the international market, it is in a competitive relationship with Outer Mongolia. They have neither the ability nor the will to help Outer Mongolia achieve industrial reform. The government of Outer Mongolia itself has no internal motivation for reform. Because no matter what industry you are in, it is not as fast as selling resources to make money. This is called "excessive path dependence". Former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher called it "comparative advantage". So, no matter how you evaluate him, the conclusion is that "the ship is too big to turn back". If the Outer Mongolian government does not have a firm determination to reform, and there is no external funding and help. The economy of Outer Mongolia will not change much in the foreseeable future. The construction of the manufacturing industry requires a large amount of capital investment and technology accumulation. Long-term investment is required for high returns. Obviously, the Outer Mongolian government does not have this willingness and development strategy. So Outer Mongolia's economy was naturally left behind by the world market. That's why it was left far behind by Inner Mongolia, a "compound economy". Outer Mongolia eventually became what it is now, a mine masquerading as a state. Put aside all kinds of grievances in the past. The past is in the past, and I certainly hope that the world will be a better place. Instead of sinking into past grievances. It would be a good thing if Outer Mongolia could become richer and better. We Chinese are also happy to see it succeed. After all, as citizens of the same country, we have lived together for hundreds of years. Although we have established our own countries now, we also hope that Outer Mongolia can be safe and happy. (Uh, here is a special clarification. When I say this, it’s not that China has any plans for Outer Mongolia. It’s just that we in China have an old saying, “Gentlemen are harmonious but different, and villains are united but not harmonious.” We Chinese are more accustomed to focusing on the common interests. Rather than focusing on differences and divergences first.)

It forms a sharp contrast with the "democratic" Outer Mongolia. In 2021, the population of Inner Mongolia in China will reach 24 million, and the GDP of Inner Mongolia in China will exceed 29 million US dollars for the first time, with a per capita of 12004 US dollars. In 2021, the population of Mongolia will reach 3.3 million, and the GDP of Mongolia will be about 13.3 billion US dollars, with a per capita of 4052 US dollars. Of course, it is higher than "democratic" India.

believe it or not, there are only just under 5 million Mongols in inner Mongolia, and those Mongols are treated poorly and murdered with the Uighurs by China of course, if China was really that good these Mongols would be moving to Mongolia

I thinik you got your data a bit off there, GDP of Inner Mongolia is $US 344 Billion in 2022
