China bought the first prototype from ukraine. First prototype means the first physical model of the plane produced from drawing. It has no engine. No avionics. No wirings. No equipment. Not tested. Not even sure if the place can fly properly. Except for the airframe, everything else that went into making the plane fly came from chinese effort.
