Their business model is to deliver coffee within 30min to you rather you buy it in shop. So if the labor cost was too high, the business would not have been work at all. Their major customers are office workers.

Starbucks and Luckin fight over in China market , but China is a tea country, only few young people drink coffee. Starbuck play lonely in this land for decades. Luckin showed up help a lot to spread coffee culture, they are not enemy.

Starbuck in China is still way ahead of Luckin with a revenue for the first quarter of 702 million dollars vs 71 million for Luckin. However, while Starbuck has been in China for 20 years , Luckin just 1 year and 7 months.
