I think you are on the older high-speed train, which can go up to 300km/h. The new Fuxing train can go up to 350km/h, maybe even 400km/h.

Some famous tourist attractions in Beijing need to be booked in advance and more security checks. And the metro system might need ID card.

The train you were taking is “Hexie Hao” “ 和谐号”， which can run up to 300km/h; if you take the other version high-speed train “Fuxin Hao” “复兴号” ,which can run up to 350km/h.

The high-speed train you are riding is not the fastest one. This kind of high-speed train is called "和谐号" 。(meaning national peace and justice), and the fastest operating speed is 300KM/h (white body). The fastest high-speed train is "复兴号" 。(meaning national rejuvenation), and the fastest operating speed is 350KM/h (red and silver body). China's railways generally avoid residential areas (to avoid noise harassing residents and to avoid residents damaging the railways). Maybe for this reason, you rarely see residents, and many of the areas along the way are industrial areas. Another reason may be that the weather is too hot.

Let me correct you, the reason why high-speed rail avoids crowds: 1. Economic cost. After all, land acquisition costs money. 2. Avoid disturbing residents. The sound of high-speed trains is quite loud. 3. Safety. Some elderly people have no sense of safety and will cross high-speed rail lines in order to save trouble.

Reason you don't see people out of the windows of your HSR, is because HSR's don't rush through city centers which are served by metros😂In densely populated areas it's in tunnels or on bridges for noise reasons. This is logical and same for every country. I don't see why that's strange.

Those trains can go over 425 km/h, but they have restricted it to 350km/h for safety. I once rode one to Shanghai that went a little over 400 km/h. I think it also has to do with the number of stops the train has to make. I’ve also noticed that the trains slow down when at every train station even if it’s not stopping.

Ur bulletin train is hexie series which can’t reach 350km, it was first on rail about 20 years ago. Nowadays fuxing series r popular on rails which can reach 350km😅😅😅

You took G352, which is one of the slowest trains from Chongqing to Beijing. There are several faster high speed trains from Chongqing to Beijing. G52 and G54 only take 6.5 - 7 hours and run 350 km/h.

If it was hot, you should have ask the attendant to adjust the AC. I think they use hand sanitiser instead of hand soap. Btw this train only goes around 300km/hr and not the fastest. The fastest one is another type that can go up to 350km/hr. It’s silver and red in colour

The high speed train you're travelling on won't be running at full speed because it's going through mountains and through tunnels, it will be limited to 250-300km/h.

The journey would be around 7-8 hours. If you take slower trains, the price would be one-fourth of high-speed trains, and the travel time would be 18 to 24 hours.
