Riding the WORLDS FASTEST Bullet Train from Beijing to Xian in China

We start the day in Beijing with a visit to the Temple of Heaven. The Temple of Heaven complex was visited by the Emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties for annual ceremonies of prayer to Heaven for a good harvest and it was a great place to spend an hour looking around early in the morning.
We then catch the Beijing Subway back to our hotel the Renaissance Beijing Wangfujing Hotel pack our things, check out and then get the Subway again the Beijing West Train Station.
At the Beijing West Train Station we wait for our G657 Bullet Train that will take us all the way to Xian. If you need train tickets for China trains you can get them from Trip.com (link can be found below).
Today we are going to be travelling in second class from Beijing to Xian and the journey time is just over 5 hours. Over the course of our trip to China we will be experiencing all different classes of train travel including second class, first class, business class, VIP class and even a sleeper train.
We really enjoyed our time onboard this train, we all sat next to each other in a row of three seats.
Along the way we passed through some amazing scenery on our journey to Xian. We spend most of the time either looking out of the window and eating all the snacks we got the night before.
Once we arrived at Xian we got a taxi from Xian Train station to our hotel, the Holiday Inn Express Xian Bell Tower. The hotel is in a great central location just a couple of minutes walk to the famous Xian Bell Tower and about 5 minutes walk to the Muslim Quarter were we went to get food.

But remember, Hi speed rail in China is designed as a public infrastructure and the fares are heavily subsidised to make it affordable to the general public, locals and foreigners alike. By not discouraging travelling between cities, higher people movement facilitates more connectivity, communication and people exchanges which fosters economic activity and development. Thanks to Maggie, similar public monopolies in the UK have been privatized and forced people onto expensive and poor serviced trains so large corporations and vulture funds can profit without care.

One correction. You can only get hot water at the water spot. The red button is a lock to protect people from false cooperation. Only click the red button to unlockat first, can you get hot water from it by pressing the green button. It will be locked automatically after few seconds since you release the green button. Be careful while you hold the cut filled up with hot water to your seat.

It’s similar to getting banned or penalised for bad behaviour. I th😅no it’s a great thing. I’m from Singapore and I live these ‘harsh’ rules, because, like China or even Japan , it keeps our communities safer and more peaceful/ harmonious. When arrived in Xi'an, the first place on the must-see list was: the Tang Dynasty City that Never Sleeps. How to get there? In the evening, take Metro Line 4 to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and exit from Exit B. Walk south for 15 minutes. After seeing the statue of Monk Xuanzang, you can see the entrance to this block. Walk south for 1 kilometer from the entrance to enter the core block. The scenery is very beautiful at night.

Well, after searching on internet, found a news relevant. It's something like Management Measures for Railway Passenger Credit Records (Trial), maintained by Railway bureau I guess, and the records are for railways use only. Like if someone smoking and triggering a smoke alarm and causing the train's speed slow down, will be prohibited from taking high speed trains or tickets purchasing.

The credit that was mentioned in the train will not stop you to get the loans or mortgage in the future. It just lock your ID a couple months to stop you buy train/flight ticket as a warning if you steal a ride. This kind of announce is intend to remind to the public don't to be a ticket evader.

when traveling in china, it's better to get a sim with a local number - it's really cheap if you get a low data plan. bring along and older phone so you can use the local number with the payment apps. this allows you to use a lot of services that require a local number. I think that was the problem you had with the beijing metro. you should be able to order a lot of different foods using the qr quote on the armrest. it will be delivered to the next station and the train attendent will pick it up and deliver it to your seat. you can get mcdonalds, starbucks, or any kind of food local to the next station.

The credit system aims to deter undesirable behaviors, such as unable to settle debt, having dealt with illicit drugs, etc. Lowering of personal credit reduces certain freedom, like, being unable to travel via high-speed rail/plane/public transport, travel out of the country, leisure spending like golf, premium hotels, extravagant purchases like a new car, purchasing insurance, investing, children being denied entry into prestigious schools, etc. The intended effect is the lowering of credit places more and more restrictions in these citizens' daily lives. A supposed person with some extremely low credit score would thus be only allowed to travel via private transport across the country if they can manage to find a way.
