Their government is also dominated by highly qualified doctors, scientists and engineers so it should not surprise anyone that their level of innovation is outpacing everyone else. Regarding the new high powered microwave emp weapon. Not only did they create the offensive part they also created the defensive part as well. Look up the announcement of the plasma energy shield a few months back. They specifically mentioned the plasma shield becomes stronger as the microwave attacks becomes stronger. They were developing both the sword and shield at the same time. I don't really put too much stock into 6th Gen/ 7th Gen aircraft discussions. Yes they're nice to have but they would never really turn the tides of actual combat if they're not produced in numbers. If there's anything the Ukr/Russia conflict can tell us it's that numbers matter and that's China's true strength. Not including world wide diaspora, they have so many people and so many engineers and so much manufacturing capability that on day 1 of some far off war they are ready to go for wartime production of armaments. Yes their soldiers are untested, even probably dubious but given the enough time in combat the cream will eventually rise just like Russia unfortunately. Any day of the week I'll take 200 Su-27's or F-18 hornets over a dozen F22's or J-50's
