There is no personal bankruptcy for individuals in China that is similar to that in the USA and Europe. In the first place, if they are down to earth and realistic and don't look for boyfriends with those ridiculous materialistic assets, such incidents won't happen to them.These are just gold diggers that wants to receive free stuff. These 'boyfriends ' keep buying them expensive gifts(most likely fake rolax watches, gucci bags etc). They never take the interest of knowing him personally (don't know what he likes and dislikes, his habits etc).

Scammers exploit their victims through trust,urgency(if there is no urgency, you will calmly think rationally whether what he said makes sense)and greed. We all need to recalibrate our language and understanding of what it means to ‘own a house’ or ‘own a car’. You don’t own anything until the loan is paid off. Your only benefit is guaranteed residency so long as you maintain payments. Still, I’m curious how the lady was allowed to borrow money for the loan when her boyfriend offered the money but didn’t want his name on it. Do China not restrict lending based on affordability?

How can all the inventory possibly be cleared, that is something I do not understand. There are enough empty homes for the population for France, something like 1 home for every 4 people in the country and a declining birth rate. They simply can't just knock down some complex that is even 10% vacant as people already reside there. A generation to clear the backlog, would that not have to be reflected by increasing birth rates? The wealth is gone, sure all that can be done is to eliminate the debt within the system through nationalisation. Knock down the vacant units and complexes, create jobs through demolition, and create more jobs by redeveloping or reassigning the land, or simply turning into green zones.

Clearing the inventory is like saying the markets will continue to rise and investment is good and it's all a sure thing, the inevitable and unstoppable rise through economic argument and argument that most favours the delivering party. It falls to mention demographics and government policy within that structure. In typing this it is all too apparent it's a ponsi scheme. But Wall Street actually still bought it.

Having shills at an open house is probably not illegal. Even two people does not show a pattern of deception. It would also be expensive. Anyone causing social unrest is subject to arrest. There are parallels between the 2 countries, but many do not make the press, nor experienced by many, but the injustice is harsh.

How can you sue the company? Where was the fraud proof that the company did that to you specifically? If the company is owned by prominent CCP officials, the judge may even rule that your continued lawsuit is both harassment and reputation damage, thus you could be fined and jailed for that. Depending on the corruption in that city and province, getting jailed is expensive to you since you have to pay for that and food you consume in jail. If you have no money, then you'd better hope that friends and family pay for your jailing costs. If you don't have friends and family to help you, then you can pay jail costs with participation in labor, medical experiments, or sell something personal to you. Super personal. Right?

The scam was due to the fact that the woman was stuck with a unit that she can't resell due to the depressed housing demand. She still has to pay the monthly mortgages. If her salary is just 3k/month, she's screwed.

That's a brilliant scam. If the victim signs the contract she's in trouble. A judge aware of this scam should be able to say, "oh, it's okay, she just has to forfeit the down-payment."

In the US, the "boyfriend" helps his "girlfriend" get 2nd, 3rd or 4th refinance of her property then disappears with the extra money. This leaves the balance on the home higher than what it can sell for. When she can't make the increased payments, the bank repossesses the home.

The scammer is the developer. The bank gave the money to the developer and the chick got the mortgage under her name only. The apartment unit value was inflated to cover the “down payment.” This is very very smart.

It was 1.8 million yuan. 2 million less the 200k the scammer gave her in two installments of 100k each. She got 200k but now stuck paying the mortgages for a unit costing 4 million yuan.

And now she is stuck with a life long mortgage and can't see it. Even if she sell, she will lose value as housing market is dropping everyday. I hope more man like this bf continues to scam these women, as women treat men as ATM.

Simple way to avoid this scam: Ask yourself whether you are able to pay the mortgage yourself, if the worst ever happens.

Government fault (again). For years they limited families to 1 child and that was usually a male while exporting/selling female babies worldwide... Now lots of lonely , single men. Not much family growth there.

When these "couples" start talking about marriage these women should bring up the dowry which smart women would demand be paid BEFORE being "gifted" a house down payment.
