America was instrumental in completing the Panama Canal and ceded it over to Panama which apparently is now allowing the Chinese to use its influence to control it…sadly, to America’s foreseeable detriment in the long run in case of a military confrontation or all-out war. As an American, I resent this. I’m not sure about the specific details relative to Panama’s control of the canal when it was turned over and the checks and balances contained in its agreement with the US. As I understand it China has strategic control at both ends of the canal or is perceived to be heading in that direction. President Trump is right. We can’t allow that. America must remain strong at all costs and establish strategic advantages to guard itself at all times. It’s a slap in the face of the USA by Panama and downright ungrateful and insulting. Take back control of the canal. Keep China at bay. Keep America strong.
