China is in transition moving on to high end technologies like EV's, Mate 60 smart phone, microchips etc. High end investors are pouring in more monies like Tesla. US interest rate was artificially inflated to attract foreign monies but killing their own industries that led to many business bankruptcies on the horizon with massive layoffs.

There are different markets for high-end and low-end goods. BYDs and Huawei phones are good quality high-end products. However, not everyone can afford to buy. Therefore, it will capture the small segment of worldwide market. Even in PRC, not many people will buy BYDs and Huawei even if they like the quality. In the old days, Chinese made toys, shoes, and textiles conquered the world wide market. They were affordable and convenient to use. Imagine you made one dollar profit for selling one shirt, how much money you will make for the international market. EV shoppers' volume will be the fraction of the low-end goods shoppers. Although I like to buy BYD, there are not many charging stations in rural area where I live. If there is no charging station in a particular area or nation, It will take a long time to capture the market. In my humble view, PRC has made more money with low end goods. High end goods will show how far China has become modernised. It will the promote national pride. Pride can not be eaten.

Off course it will take time during the transition period to conquer western economy as the West is dwindling over energy crisis, high living cost - high inflation, high interest borrowing. Many Chinese entrepreneurs are moving out of China too with other branded products like Apple iPhone, Nike to source for cheaper labour costs. Even today many low end products that are made in Vietnam, Indonesia, Philippines are indeed Chinese owned and raw materials are mainly coming from China. And also many Chinese who lost their jobs are now crossing the border into United States on land to work for low end manufacturing run by Chinese owners for the US markets. You can see how China will be in the next 10 years during this transformation especially with BRICS expanding and BRI in the backdrop.

Spending big on the products which people will be reluctant to buy is not a good idea. In the renewable energy sector, PRC is very competitive, such as solar panels.
