Yes, he could dry out, but many of them WANT to dry out if they could. They can do that in treatment, maybe some kind of confinded treatment, but they are probably going to get right back o them. Addiction is a horrible horrible thing. I don't like calling it a disease, but it is scourge for sure. NOW the dealers, different story but they ALSO can't be thrown all under 1 umbrella. I have known plenty of people who sold their script in order to try and survive and get an extra few hundred each month. These many are your neighbors, and MANY are little grandma's whether you want to believe it or not. What do we do with them? Of course something, but they do't have any money to begin with, and they already can't survive. It is complicated. but to keep throwing everybody in jail does nothing.
