Another great video. As always, no boring narrative or comments. Good quality and well placed cameras. Love that your vehicle isn’t heavily modded. It’s a good reminder that you don’t need $2k bumpers and winch with a $4k suspension lift to hit the trails. You are doing a lot more with a lot less and there is something to be said about that. Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing.

2:38 Time for Skidplates! Your lucky to live in CO where you can just pick them up if you go with Hefty or Shrock. Save so much on shipping This looks like a trail I'd like to hit. That obstacle at 3:10 looks like you could just sit there for an hour trying different lines.
@BRollOffroad6 жыл бұрын
yea i really need a winch but it's going to be like $2,000 all said and done which seems ridiculous to me. with the added bumper weight i might need new coils as well and it's just crazy, i'm at 1/3 the cost of the vehicle to put a winch on. this was a really fun trail though, you could mess around in a few areas for a long time.
@Flying_Dollar_Motorsports6 жыл бұрын
@@BRollOffroadlook around on thenewx.org. There used to be a winch mount option made by a user that allowed you to use the stock bumper and the winch line would come out just over your front plate. It was a good budget option when combined with a Harbor Freight winch. Whole set up was around 500 give or take I think. PRG products makes one too for $400. I'd recommend protection first though now that your trying some harder stuff.
@BRollOffroad6 жыл бұрын
@@Flying_Dollar_Motorsports i saw one on a site, probably the PRG but it protruded from the bumper and looked kind of goofy. if that user's is recessed that'd be awesome. i don't mind sliding on the skidplates and frame, just gotta make sure i'm over it enough to do so and miss the doors. also to be clear i've been offroading for 10yrs and mellowed out in my old age haha. now that i have the channel i'm doing harder stuff than you guys have seen me do but have done much harder stuff in my 1st gen Xterra years ago haha. i also have been going back and forth on sliders, i don't have that much break over angle as it is and putting sliders on is going to "lower" me 2" or so. plus there's always the cost but they're not too bad. again though if i keep adding 100lb items to the truck the suspension is going to have to be addressed... again haha.
@Flying_Dollar_Motorsports6 жыл бұрын
Well yeah, thats how you're gonna end up with a Titan swap on 35s and custom leaf springs, full armor, etc. I could keep going! Dont rely on those stamped steel Xterra skid plates too much. If I were back in the states right now Id send you a pic of my gas tank skid and the gas tank with thier huge dent that caused me to lose a gallon or two of capacity in my tank.
@BRollOffroad6 жыл бұрын
@@Flying_Dollar_Motorsports yea i wanna keep it like this for awhile and once stuff starts wearing out probably go Titan. i really like the aspect of a huge upgrade but using some stock Nissan parts, kind of cool. when i got the 1st X i was getting sliders and bumpers "soon," 7yrs later was still basically stock haha. should probably just buy a welder..

nice! you should learn to stay inside. if you do ever roll sideways you will smoosh. stay inside man. solo is much harder, it's no big deal to stop and look before you roll over it. cheers still a great vid.
@BRollOffroad6 жыл бұрын
while i DO agree with this there are just times when you can’t see over the hood which was most of this trail haha. pretty sure i’m out the window more on this trail than all of the others combined. i had my buddy there but after 10yrs offroading i’m still learning and seeing what the truck and i can do, especially if i was alone- what would i do? i wouldn’t recommend this to anyone especially if there was any risk of rolling, but im definitely guilty of “do as i say not as i do,” haha. everything is situational, like if i was in a Right Hand Drive on the last obstacle i’d be leaning to the uphill (and in-cab) side as much as possible! have fun out there and thanks for watching!
@andyloechler98966 жыл бұрын
this is a really good example of a pretty easy climb that went wrong. really nothing crazy but... stuff happens. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fZS6k4WBrbSfg7c I have a set of rules when your in my truck. everybody stays inside no matter what when we are rolling. if you need to look we stop and get out and look. having seen things like the example happen... it happens so fast and it's always someplace where nobody expected it to happen. the situation is we are moving over broken ground, we stay inside the truck even if it seems 100% safe.
@BRollOffroad6 жыл бұрын
that makes sense but there are also times when the trail is full of bumps and holes that i HAVE prescanned and now i need to make sure i’m right. there are times when putting it in park in the middle of a section would be a bad idea. on the obstacle in the video i would not have been out the window because it’s sketchy and steep so out the window i’d still just see the sky. i only do it when i think it’s safe to do so but i also do a lot of stuff people wouldn’t consider safe. then there are guys on YT jumping cars with no roof and rock climbing without a rope. i mean when i’m on my motorcycle i’m outside the whole time haha. then you have these guys: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pWSWhIVqdt55qrc&app=desktop
