the proper way to fry dumplings in to heat a little oil, let the dumplings fry a little, add water and let the dumplings steam-cook through, then finally add a little more oil to crisp them up properly. my grandfather owned a chinese restaurant in nyc when i was young and that's what he taught me.

moon cakes are very labor-intensive to make and takes a lot of skill. they're expensive here in the northeast coast of of u.s. too.

Yes, I guess the price is justified because they’re all hand made. I should look into how exactly are mooncakes made

@@VASIGTravelingLifeinLondon chinatown manhattan will always hold a special place in my heart because i used to go every month when i was little. it's also the most convenient to get to when you get into the city. but chinatown queens is where all the food is now. chinatown brooklyn isn't as big and definitely not as convenient. i've only been to the chinatown in philly for dimsum once. haven't had the chance to really explore, but it's on my list! i'm tempted to tour chinatowns where ever i go on vacation!

love from China.... London Chinatown is really like you are in China..... actually, In China, many young people, people in love, like to go to such places.. It always looks very prosperous, lively and full of life, in Changsha, Chengdu, Shanghai and Hong Kong....chinese love the food and atmosphere... If there were more Chinese here, it would be more lively and energetic. 😄 The Chinese characters on both sides of the memorial archway mean: prosperous China, the sun and the moon shine together, inherit the Millennium civilization, the world is peaceful, and the people of the world share peace and prosperity. 😊The design of the Dragon above is the design of the dragon in the Forbidden City, which was the palace where the ancient Chinese emperors worked and lived.. Therefore, this is a magnificent archway, representing the Chinese royal style ☺The color of the dragon in the Forbidden City and the Chinese characters are all gold. The dragon in this archway is gold, and the Chinese characters are also gold.. And the shape of the dragon is exactly the same as that of the Forbidden City.. And it's all on a blue background... Therefore, this is a very high-level and high-grade archway. In ancient China, only the Chinese emperor could use it.. Its builders are highly skilled and professional.. the highest grade archway in foreign countries.. I hope London Chinatown will develop better and better, and the friendship between the two peoples will deepen. 😄

Well they WERE mostly Chinese, everything else is relatively recent and (apart from the betting shops) a nice addition. I always thought Korean Fried Chicken was the one to try, having said that this Taiwanese one seems to be taking off. I always use the supermarket across the road, loads of videos explaining the sauces. Beancurd sheets aka tofu skin are used for allsorts - stir frys, dumpings etc. 10 quid for dumpings! This dumplings thing has passed me by, just seems like normal dim sum marketed in a fancy way. Totally agree about Misato. Phillipines ice cream is a new one on me actually, have to try that. Ah you still didn't try Golden Dragon though! Buffets in Covid times though ... hmm
@VASIGTravelingLifeinLondon3 жыл бұрын
I thought you might be the person who can answer my questions!😂 thank you!!☺️ I saw the Korean fried chicken in so many videos recently. Go there before it’s too full of people. I also suggest you the ice cream, a Friend of mine is from the Philippines and said this one is very authentic. Golden dragon sounds great but not for a video, cause usually I try to go to as many places as possible and that’s harder to do with a restaurant 😅 also, harder to film! (Don’t take it personal, please) i do appreciate all of your suggestions
