@ I don’t agree with Chinas dictatorship, but America lets big corporations dictate what happens when it comes to regulating the industries. Chinas regulations on businesses allow for the average person to open a small shop or restaurant while still maintaining good health standards. America lets the richest man on earth make as many phone calls to whoever he wants in office so he can get his way. This recent government hold up was mostly because Trump didn’t agree with the restrictions on American companies manufacturing in China, the bill was going to require Elon to start leaving the Chinese market which is 1/4 of Tesla sales. Trump threw a fit and the bill was revised and passed without any restrictions on American companies in China…

My father worked as a village head for many years, and retired with small pension. His pension was stopped 2018 because he was a Uyghur and religious. He was too old to be put into camp. He passed away with Covid 2022. China has strict preconditions to give pension for its old citizens. My mother, over 80 years old, has no income and the government gives no pension because she was a farmer. Lots of my young, successful, happy and innocent relatives have been disappeared since 2018, probably in high security slave labour prisons. It is extremely hard to be a Uyghur in this world. The could have been a better place if people become less greedy and more compassionate. Hates causes hate and disaster for so many innocent people.

Dear CU, While the Bureaucracy is large ( and one can find stories such as these in any large society, or small poor ones ), China suffers from something significantly larger and more destructive ( besides the CCP itself ), and that is continuous and permanent endemic graft. To raise in rank in almost all areas of China requires a payment to someone else, to get into a good school, to rise in the ranks of the local corporation, to grow in recognition in the government, the Military, and in the CCP itself, all require bribes. In many ways the CCP wants to keep it this way, while rejecting it, it is also a valuable tool that officials can use to effect power over other areas or individuals in the government ( "... I'm shocked, shocked to find that gambling is going on in here..."! ), and more importantly within the CCP itself. Interestingly enough this level of graft is a direct hold over from the Stalinist influences in the CCP's early development, and it is also an "inherent" part of the nature of power within the Communism itself. China is currently watching the war in Ukraine very carefully, knowing full well that a significant reason for the very poor performance of the Russian Military on the battlefield is a direct result of "decades" of graft in war procurement, logistics, command and control, and in the hierarchy of the military itself, where leadership is garnered more by bribes, and loyalty to the current regime, than by ability. This worries them.

Has been back to England twice and got back into the country on her British passport no problems. But due to a change in laws in 1986 we discovered 2 years ago if she left the country now she would not be allowed back in. Took over 12 months to obtain a peice of paper that allowed her back in before she left for NZ on a holiday cause no one knew how this could be even be possible.

Government bureaucracy is a feature, not a bug. It's a tool of control because by having a vast number of vague rules it's impossible for anybody to NOT break at least some of them. This means that the citizen only escapes punishment because they haven't incurred the ire of some government official who could inevitably find something to punish the person for if they wanted to.
