Chinese Antique Vases: Turn them into Lamps?

At Charlie Wallrock’s (Wick Antiques) warehouse, we discuss a pair of 19th century Chinese Famille Rose vases, which had obviously been exported to Paris when new and mounted in ornamental and magnificent (it has to be said) ormolu bronze. So, you have a great mix of Eastern and Western design and influences complimenting one another perfectly in a pair of monumental antique Chinese vases…Charlie thinks someone might turn them into lamps…what do you think?

Giant famille rose vases with gilt brass mounts. Nice things. I've actually seen soldier vases, i.e. floor vases, but these look like better quality than those were. Especially that ruffling. They used to sell cork/ plug mounts to turn vases into lamps without drilling holes or doing damage. I've a jug with one in, and one that I took out of a vase. You'd have to cut your own plug for those, but it could be done.
