They took too long to get him CPR and help. 😢 I feel so sorry for his family who was watching his match LIVE on TV. It was even his sister’s birthday. 😢

I didn't see them administer CPR at all... did the medics even check if he was still breathing or had a pulse??

CPR is not guranteed to save someone life's either. We should look into the root cause. Why are so many healthy young men collasping and dying nowadays?

It was his sister’s birthday? OMG, how would she be able to celebrate her birthdays for the rest of her life without feeling tremendously sad about how he literally dropped dead? So very heartbreaking.

@LYJManchesterUnited it is NOT guaranteed to save a life? Probably. But if you DONT DO CPR to someone who just experienced a cardiac arrest- man, I'm telling you, DEATH IS GUARANTEED. Get your facts straight.

Medic team didn't provide first aid CPR immediately as failed on diagnosing but only carried out! Nothing done while waiting to send to hospital!

This is a sad day for world badminton. The organising body worldwide must learn from this incident. I can recall during Euro 2020, when Denmark midfielder Christian Eriksen collapsed on the pitch, the referee immediately stopped the game and his teammates quickly rushed to help him. He regained consciousness after the medical team resuscitated him and was rushed to hospital. He recovered and came back to football and is now playing for Denmark again in euro 2024.

i’ve heard numerous reports of people dying while playing badminton. is the sport too strenuous for the heart or what??

Badminton is the least deadly among all "most physically-demanding" sports. This was a rare case of physical exhaustion that likely lead to cardiac arrest. But that is not the point of this incident. His death could have been prevented if the medics knew what they were doing and that if they acted more swiftly to perform a CPR ON THE SPOT. From what I've heard, they only rendered CPR after they transferred him somewhere via a stretcher. This was a case of NEGLIGENCE.

I always make sure i drink enough water. The main issue with badminton is overheated. I mean it's the fastest sport after all.

@ohgin12345 cardiac arrest in badminton is rare, yes. Cardiac arrest "anywhere" is NOT RARE. CPR training is even done and taught literally in every company, school etc. For medics to know how to handle this kind of situation in ANY sporting event IS EXPECTED. I don't know why you think it's NOT their fault.

Im so sorry for his family, but it's just normal day in Indonesia. Indonesia medical is just garbage, so many people like zhang die in Indonesia hospital. That's why rich people in Indonesia always seek medicine on another country

It will take Indonesia a long time to figure out how he died. Is there an open investigation regardless medical response? If this happened in China he would have lived like the us footballer

@@s-for-success-for-s Sports medicine is cardiologist ? You can't even distinguish the two. Are you a practicing doctor ? Or just a university graduate ? Sports medicine is not even recognized as legitimate medical specialty. At best it's merely a 'subspecialty'. No cardiologist can conclusively said physical exhaustion is the culprit. And you being probably 21 year old graduate from an inferior study making a conclusive diagnosis. The way you talk already reflected your legitimacy and actual credentials. Laughable at best. No real doctor will come on youtube and made such superficial remarks without even knowing patient's actual condition and history.

@@s-for-success-for-s Sports medicine is not legitimate field of medicine. you guys only become nutriotionist or deal with muscle cramps, not a niche field like cardiology. you guys are not even doctors. No actual cardiologist can conclusively said this is a case of physical exhaustion, especially this is just group stage.
