We didn’t have a full on Chinese wedding, but we held a banquet for my family in Hong Kong. We decided it would be too much hassle to hold another wedding and Arnav and I never really wanted a big wedding in the first place. We prefer to save our money on our future rather than a party. -Bex

Mehndi is done 2-3 days before wedding because wedding dy becomes hectic and mehndi is a good coolant , so it basically helps in stress relief on wedding day . Ans for the same reason groom also gets mehndi done

I was being panglossian about my wedding in India that things will be easy to manage, but I am really worried about how stressful it is going to be when my actual wedding will happen. I personally am advocate of court marriage and save the money of wedding to spend some meaningful expeditions like travel or invest, but that's not gonna happen.. 😂 😂 😂 😂 . Thanks to this video, I can share the reference points to those who don't know how India wedding work, in 20 minutes... even though the rituals in Gujarat are little different compared to Bengali wedding.

That’s also how Arnav and I thought. We had told our parents that we wanted to just go to a registry office and get married and then we can use the money that would have been used for our future instead. Arnavs parents really wanted us to have a proper Bengali wedding - Arnav is their first born after all and so we decided to just go along with what they wanted to make them happy. I think both of our sets of parents were very happy with the wedding we had in the end and I’m also glad that we had something memorable. Our wedding was much smaller than a typical Bengali wedding too so it wasn’t as bad as it could have been! I think it’s tough for the bride because even though it’s a wedding for the both of you- everyone seems to be more interested in the bride (or maybe it was just because I’m not Indian? 🤷🏻‍♀️)

@@CurryandDumpling Well, I would say that sometimes it may be tough for groom as well. I remember the time when my cousin was getting engaged and I went with him at his prospect in-law's house. His prospect father in-law was so intrigued by us that he started calling all people in his community to have a look on us. For a moment me and my cousin felt as if we were exotic animals in the zoo😂😂😂😂😂😂. Then after some time we felt like we were celebrity😂😂😂😂. But in your case, it must be because of you not being an Indian. Not sure what will happen to my fiancé in our Indian wedding.
