Stopping because of hand hits is silly to me it’s obvious when sparring when you got hit to the point you would drop the weapon otherwise at least let the person have a reaction shot where they can prove weather the hand attack has left them open to something worse on the repost.

First off you just watched some of the most coolest sword fighting I have ever seen & that's what you take away from it? Second ever try fighting someone after getting your hand or fingers cut off? Cause unless you have some real high pain tolerance & can still wield your blade with the other hand (which your blade would have fallen on to the ground) then I don't think the fight would continue on lol... If I didn't know any better I would say that the reason you are so "particular" on the subject is cause you couldn't handle seeing a Jian beat a Rapier XD but hey I'm just a nerd on the internet... wHaT dO i KnOw?¿?

@@watermelonprom7197 I wanted to tell is that if a sword hits one's hand, it lose it's will to fight. I agree with you.

The recent 2024 Jianfa tournament in the UK had continuous sparring rules. Cuts to the hand, arm, or leg are points but don't stop the bout. Cuts to the head or torso with force are considered lethal and win the bout regardless of point totals when the fatal cut is made.
