Chinese listening: A ghost story - HSK3/HSK4 listening and exercise - Slow and clear Chinese story

菲菲和阿伟是一对情侣，他们都住在大学宿舍。
Feifei and Awei were a couple, both of them lived in the college dormitory.
ā wěi shì yí gè hěn zāo gāo de nán péng yǒu,
阿伟是一个很糟糕的男朋友，
Awei was a terrible boyfriend,
tā bú dàn fēi cháng huā xīn, ér qiě yǒu de shí hòu hái huì dǎ fēi fēi
他不但非常花心，而且有的时候还会打菲菲。
He always played around, besides that, Awei beat feifei sometimes.
Fēi fēi jué de fēi cháng shāng xīn,
菲菲觉得非常伤心，
Feifei was very sad,
suǒ yǐ, fēi fēi cóng sù shè de lóu dǐng tiào le xià qù, zì shā le
所以，菲菲从宿舍的楼顶跳了下去，自杀了。
So she jumped from the top of her dormitory, and killed herself.
Fēi fēi zì shā yǐ hòu, ā wěi cháng cháng mèng jiàn tā
菲菲自杀以后，阿伟常常梦见她
After feifei’s suicide, Awei often dreamt about her.
Zài mèng lǐ, fēi fēi shuō, tā yào lái zhǎo ā wěi, bǎ ā wěi yě shā sǐ
在梦里，菲菲说，她要来找阿伟，把阿伟也杀死。
In Awei’s dream, Feifei said, she was going to find Awei and kill him.
ā wěi fēi cháng hài pà, suǒ yǐ tā qù zhǎo le yí gè suàn mìng shī fu
阿伟非常害怕，所以他去找了一个算命师傅，
Awei was really scared, so he went to a Chinese fortune teller for help(They work as ghostbusters too in China!)

师傅告诉他: “今天晚上就是头七，
The fortune teller told Awei，“ because tonight is the seventh night after Feifei’s death,
nǐ yào ràng nǐ de shì yǒu dōu lí kāi, nǐ yí gè rén zài sù shè
你要让你的室友都离开，你一个人在宿舍，
you need to ask all your roommates to leave, and stay in the dorm alone
nǐ yào jì zhù, guǐ shì bù néng wān yāo de
你要记住，鬼是不能弯腰的，
Remember, ghosts can not bend down,
suǒ yǐ, rú guǒ nǐ duǒ zài sù shè de chuáng xià, fēi fēi jiù bù néng zhǎo dào nǐ
所以，如果你躲在宿舍的床下，菲菲就不能找到你。”
So if you hide under the dorm bed, Feifei can not find you.”

There were ten beds altogether in Awei’s dorm, Awei hid under the tenth bed.

快到晚上12点了，阿伟听到了宿舍外边的声音
It was almost midnight, Awei heard a noise from outside the dormitory.

这是菲菲过来的声音
This must be the sound of Feifei coming.

阿伟紧张极了
Awei was extremely nervous.

他听到这个声音越来越近
the sound was getting closer and closer, Awei heard

The sound reached from the side of the first bed.

阿伟听见菲菲的声音说
Awei heard Feifei’s voice saying:

Can’t find him, can’t find him!

Why did Awei die:
Because Feifei died from jumping from the building, and her head hit the ground first, and after that she kept walking/moving with her body upside down.
Even if she can not bend down, her head is nearest to the ground so she can still see Awei.

Now i realize other than teaching Chinese, you have a talent of telling scary story. Maybe you will be successful if you create a horror channel😝 Usually i am not even really afraid of horror movie,stories, or of ghost or anything in real life (I've had some "experience" that make my friends afraid but i didnt) But i get goosebumps when i listen to your voice saying 找不到找不到 And then MORE goosebumps when you said 找到了😱😱😱 Oh my gosh maybe i will get a nightmare tonight seeing you and hearing you say those words😌 And i thought the answer why feifei can find him was because of some pun. So i think maybe awei hear wrong what the fortune teller said and did mistake. But when i see the answer, wow okay it is spooky😂

First mistake: thinking I could listen to the story without getting scared. Second mistake: doing so right before bedtime. Third mistake: reading the description to find out the reason why he died, thus getting even more scared. 吓死我了!

By the way , that fortune teller is a fraud. In order to counter the spirit of the ghost , one needs to bring more people to the area and not by sending them away.

I couldn't understand the first time (or concentrate/ I was even cheating reading the Chinese text on the video, which I shouldn't do!)...although I thought the speech sped was too slow (but it wasn't), but I started to get the sentences the second time! Thanks. My case is that I am Chinese overseas living in Hong Kong but more used to hear and talking Cantonese (with little chance to practice Putonghua). With almost 20 years here, still cant manage to hear long sentence or usual speed conversation due to my lack of practice. :( It seems that your system is more suitable for me! Thanks again.

I dont understand in detail, I just get the big picture of the story. A girl committed suicide, became a ghost, and came back for a revenge. So the ghost moved in an upside down position, so spooky......

I don't like that only 3:21 of the 5:37 have spoken Mandarin. The rest is in English. I'd rather watch videos that are 100% in Mandarin. If someone has an HSK 3 level, then they can understand your intro if it's in Mandarin.
