Chinese NVE Devilbiss DV1 Copy, Unboxing & Physical Comparison To Original

Just found your channel pete, i actually own about 12 of these knockoff / chinese guns and they all work very well. Ive been a professional painter for almost 20 years, and the Fake GTI prolite perform exactly the same as the real Teknas. Ive owned the real one b4. Ive comfirmed it with 2 other painter friends and they said the same thing. I bought 2 chinese 4000s and they spray extremely well so i lent the gun to another painter friend who strictly uses Sata and he also said it performs the same if not better.

But im actually wondering if this dv1 clone sprays the same as the real dv1 or as the gti clone. I have 6 gti clones already and dont wanna end up with another one

I just finished watching your whole video. "If" the dv1 clone is essentially the exact same as the gti prolite clone, theres no real point in getting it cause its double the price. Also the spray patterns to me seem abit odd, usually the spray patterns are supposed to be alil middle heavy not what u got which is heavy on the ends...... which is baffling to me is that the original dv1 kinda did the same thing. But great in depth video nonetheless.

Hi buddy, the pattern was done with thinners, which is why it's top and bottom heavy. However, the DV1 is more of an "I" pattern when used with 2k clear coats. The pattern is definitely different from the copy Gti Pro Lite, which is very centre weighted

Thanks for the video, that's why I bought the clone and I only use it for the clear coat, I just had a problem with the trigger, it gets stuck a little, does anyone know how I can solve it?

Hi Mate, If you don't want to take it apart you could try a little light oil on the plunger that the trigger pushs in, put a little oil on the outside of the plunger, where it enters the gun and work in in and out

Hi Pete, I've been looking forward to seeing your copy/clone of the DV1 and once you see them together you can see there are differences with the shape you didn't mention any size difference but they look similar. To me it looks like they have taken the GTI copy and just made it the same shape as the DV1 as the main part of the gun (the head and air cap) seems to be more like the GTI copy than it is the DV1, but as you mentioned it does look to be fairly well made🤔 the spray pattern is a bit smaller but that's just the design of the aircap. I think this should be looked at more as a gun in it's own right rather than a full comparison to the DV1 as I think it might spray more like the GTI than the DV1🤔looking forward to seeing this in action👌 Thanks Pete a great and interesting video👏👍

Hi John, It's the same physical size as the DV1 and feels similar, although the DV1 would be obvious as to its heritage if you were blindfolded. It is a bit of a cross between the Pro lite and DV1, although the pattern is definitely different to the Pro Lite copy. I've got a stand-alone, head to head with the DV1, and a comparison to the Pro Lite copy so plenty for people to mull over, cheers mate 👍

Hi Steven, the paint cup threads are the same, they are the same as the Devilbiss Tekna Gti Pro Lite, its a 3/8 BSP, cheers mate 👍

Whats your take DV1 copy in general?, almost as good as the original or did they hit a home run on this one? I'm looking to spray metallics and was told the DV1 is a excellent option but not sure about buying a chinese copy. Buy with confidents? Thanks.

Hi William, it's not a bad gun, but you're not buying a DV1. It feels quite heavy compared to the original and isn't as well made, If it puts out a good pattern and sprays quite well, it's definitely worth considering it. You're on a budget, but, as I say, don't think you're getting a DV1

Hi Pete, interesting copy! they really have copied it down to a T apart from some of the sizes, it will be interesting in how it performs, it looked like the air holes on the tip was slightly different but I’m certain that it was the trick of the camera there. Nice looking gun though. Cheers Pete.

Hey Pete! It's apparent they didn't want to (cost) or couldn't (legality) copy it too much. It's rather disappointing that they would spend the money to half reverse engineer rather than spend it on just making their own decent gun as most surely know by now they're spitting out fakes. For the same cost ($200+ USD), one could have an authentic good brand budget gun. Go figure.. Keep the videos coming! Love it!

@@peteshobbies5383 i recon the legal side in this case. I had some things with a standard copywrite in the past. They needed to stop making my product. And distroy everything they had. I would think. They half ass copy deu to patents and such. Making it look like something is 1 verry easy task nowdays. And with enough differences and there own nozzle and look alike but there own aircap thats doing a reasonable job for the designing/production rate/costs they avoid big lawsuits. I bet. If someone wants to make somethibg realy good. They can. But then the designing and prototyping would be more expensive. So will production be with the high end materials and such. Allso precision will need to be higher so the costs will go up sinds there will undoubdly will be more discarded along the way. Warrentee claims will be there more sinds a product of a certain price is being assumed to last a certain wile etc. So. I guess thats the whole reason of back engineering for ya. Look around to all copys.. not only guns. But im even asked if they where allowed to copy one of my products! Insane world we live in nowdays.

Hello Pete , hope all is well over your way, I almost bought the Sata copy gun just to see if they are any good but I think all these copies just aim to be aesthetically similar rather than replicating similar performance, so it was an easy choice to save the $$$ for something better , cheers mate

Hi Mate, the NVE is technically the better gun, it's a little more refined than the 4000B, before you couldn't really compare the two as the NVE was over two times the price, now it is much cheaper so is comparable

I think the Devilbiss Advanced HD is the replacement for the JGA, same, same bodies as the Gti Pro but with different caps, it an idea, see how the older compares with the new

Actually , the advance is more closely related to the sri pro lite in construction (the air cap screws directly to the body with just a grey plastic ring inside the body to seal the fluid cap) . The jga was the first version of the gti and most parts are still interchangable!! 👍 .

They tend to use those tips and gaskets on a lot of the chineese guns.. allrhough they work well. Its just not like the real deal. Funny how it works.
