Things have been chaotic in England lately, to say the very least. There have been ongoing riots and conflicts between different segments of society as well as law enforcement. More curbs on limitations regarding free speech have been implemented as well.
In this video we'll take a look at the top Chinese reactions to the unrest in the UK on Chinese social media!

During the height of color revolution era, Nancy Pelosi referred the NED supported Hong Kong protest as a “beautiful sight to behold “. She might be sincere based on her belief. But her phrase sounded sarcastic gleeful under difficult situations.

Many people don't know why China people often talk about beautiful scenery. In 2019, a Hong Kong teenager had kiXX his girlfriend in Taiwan, which triggered a protest against extradition. Originally, it was an internal affair of China, but at that time, the British Prime Minister said that the handling of rioters by the Hong Kong police violated human rights and freedoms, and Nancy Pelosi, President of the US House of Representatives, called "Protesters are the most beautiful scenery". Since then, China will call any protest in the West "The most beautiful scenery", which is a boomerang.

@@philipphan261 Actually, Chinese people basically don’t care about Western politics. But because of the attitude of the US and the UK towards the 2019 Hong Kong riot, now Chinese people basically side with any Western protesters, no matter what the reason for the protest is. And they uniformly use Pelosi’s words at that time to counterattack the West: “Protesters are the most beautiful scenery of this country.”

We have a massive population of Chinese people now. We took in 100,000s from Hong Kong and students from the mainland students. There are in all our big cities in massive numbers. Yet zero issues. Mixed marriages between White English and Chinese are common. Mixed white English/Chinese biracial kids are the fastest growing group in the country.. Go to any big city or tourist hotspot or museum and it is full of Chinese people. My girlfriend is British born Chinese but as culturally English as me. I think it shocked some newly arrived Chinese to see someone who looked like them talking with a really strong northern-English accent. Of courses there is always some older racists like there is anywhere in the world. There is no riots or protests or news headlines over this. Yet there is riots over islam and illegal immigrants coming from places like Romania, Africa and the middle-east. People want these people gone and us to stop importing anymore. We have to ask ourselves why some groups of immigrants are welcomed and others are not? The answer is clearly not just that we English are racist.

While some of the comments are expectedly garbage, you may have to read through them to understand some of the posts mentioned: I was a bit surprised that people in China seemed to openly support freedom of expression or critique of government. Turns out it's all a reference to what Nancy Pelosi said about people coming together to peacefully protest for democracy protests in Hong Kong (for those reading at some point in the future, Hong Kong still good before 2019, you could still talk freely). They took that ... assumed it referred to violent radical actions by fringe groups (I doubt they'd assume she's referring to police brutality or the hired thugs) ... and now they're using it to express Schadenfreude. You suddenly understand how accurate of a name 'Chinese whispers' was for a game 😅

Most of the people who express opinions in WeChat videos are middle-aged people. I will list some platforms and list their main user groups based on my experience. Bilibili: young men, students, groups who like anime, games, and comics Xiaohongshu: young women Zhihu: Chinese liberals, highly educated people Weibo: very complicated, almost everyone is there Baidu Tieba: different for each "bar", but mainly used by young/middle-aged men IQiyi: women, women who like to watch TV series

I would say China is capitalistic authoritarian state. In many way its like South Korea in 1970's or taiwan in 1980. Its been big and not following rule set by west, is main reason why west go out its way to see it as threatening, as there are many state like these that west seem to be fine with, some even seen as friend. Saudi and UAE for good example. Basically for average person, living in China is same living in europe/US, less crime but also less freedom(especially online)

The important thing is that we have never asked the West to implement the same system as us, we do not care about the Western system, as long as it does not affect me, but the fact is that the West has seriously interfered with us, slandering and discrediting everything we do, negating all our efforts, and even asking us to do what the West wants. This is also the main reason why we hate the West. Never teach the Chinese what to do, we will actively learn what is good for us.

The conference was hosted by Renmin University of China, hosted by Chongyang Financial Research Institute of Renmin University of China, co-organized by the Russian Free Economic Association, the Geopolitical and Economic Research Group of the University of Manitoba, and the India-China Economic and Cultural Promotion Association. At the meeting, "Attacking the Fortress: The an all-round in-depth reform in the New Era and the High-level Opening-up of China and the 2029 and 2035 Imagination Research Report. More than 10 experts and scholars from China and foreign countries, together with diplomats and foreign media journalists from 12 countries including United Kingdom, Germany, Poland and Singapore, gathered at Renmin University of China. Discussed the achievements of China's reform and opening-up in the new era, and imagined and looked forward to China's further an all-round in-depth reform and high-level opening-up in 2029 and 2035. By 2029, the added value of strategic emerging industries will account for more than 20% of GDP, and over 40% of the world's top 500 enterprises will come from China. By 2035, China is expected to become the world's largest economy, with the R & D and manufacturing capacity of most industries reaching world-class levels. In 2029, visa-free, unilateral, and visa-on-arrival visas will be granted to more than 100 countries, and in 2035, more than 120 countries. By 2035, the average Chinese person will travel more than five times across regions and more than one third of the country's population will travel abroad. In 2029, China's human development index will move from high to high, the reform of the distribution system will push the structure of national income to gradually become "olive-shaped", the construction of a "healthy China" will increase the life expectancy of the average person to over 80 years, and the per capita monthly income of China is expected to exceed 10,000 yuan in 2035. By 2029, the carbon dioxide peaking goal will be achieved ahead of schedule. After that, greenhouse gas emissions will be reduced by more than 400 million tons per year on average, making it the country with the highest annual emission reduction. In 2029, China will become the country with the highest level of comprehensive security in the world. Chinese astronauts will land on the moon and the annual output of large aircraft will exceed 100. By 2035, China will produce 500 large aircraft per year, establish 10 new overseas support bases, and further increase the number and number of China's participation in UN peacekeeping operations. The number of China's space launches will reach 200-300 per year. In 2029, further an all-round in-depth reform and the party's self-renewal complement each other, the party leads chinese path to modernization from the blueprint to the realization, and the per capita GDP reaches the level of quasi-developed countries. In 2035, China, which has basically realized socialist modernization, will stand proudly in the east of the world with an unprecedented civilization.
