Thank you for the facts but in our defense Tina Fey does such an excellent imitation of Sarah Palin that while channel surfing, not knowing it was SNL, I did think it was Sarah making that comment. Excellent share and you got me thinking that if he did his routine in a Baaaaaston or Tayksuus accent I wonder, and doubt, that it would be as funny. His slow timing is excellent and one I can't recall in my 62 years ever seeing anyone do the same. Lots of comments about racists in the crowd. I do believe there are many close minded people who are irritated because they have to listen to his accent -- you can see many of their expressions of impatience because they have to tune in a bit harder to listen more carefully. But I think for the most part, the people there are just not that quick with their wits to understand his jokes (which are hilarious). Many of the deeper jokes, where you if you didn't understand basic science, law, history or politics...you wouldn't get it right away. For instance 1. Speed of sound versus Light; 2. Centralized Socialist Economy (his father's joke); 3 Roe Vs Wade (American abortion law); 4. Benjamin Franklin and The Second Amendment ; 5. Chinese debt collection (most of america's bonds are owned by china) 6. Reference to Palin and Russia is his backyard ; 7. Obama and immigration policy. These take a bit of wisdom and understanding of things that many don't even know about. BUT, notice how everyone howls at the obvious jokes (Hu Cares, Text messaging, OMG, LOL, the Olsen Twins). We think because it is a CSpan dinner that these are highly educated people there.... many are just not that in tune.
