Chinese Spare Rib Tips
Ingredients
3 lb Baby Back Ribs
1/3 cup Hoisin sauce
1/2 cup honey
2 tbsp brown sugar
2 tbsp oyster sauce
1/4 cup rice wine vinegar
2 tsp Chinese five spice
5 garlic cloves minced
2 tsp finely grated fresh ginger
1tsp red food coloring
1tsp green onions-(garnish)
1tsp sesame seeds-(garnish)
Instructions
1.In a small bowl combine hoisin sauce, honey, brown sugar, oyster sauce, rice, five spice, garlic, ginger and red food coloring and mix until combined.
2. Clean and remove the silver skin at the back of the ribs and cut up (I had the butcher at the supermarket cut it up for me) before placing it into a container or ziplock bag, pour marinade over ribs. Marinade for at least 24 hours for full flavor.
3. Pre-heat oven to 300 degrees. Lined the baking sheet with parchment paper.
4. Place the ribs on the baking sheet in the middle rack, reserving the marinade for basting. Cover the baking sheet with foil tightly and place in pre-heated oven for 1 hour.
5. Remove from oven in 1 hour to base with marinade and cover again and place back in the oven. Repeat this process twice.
6. Remove from oven and increase temperature to 350 degrees. Base again, this time returning to the oven uncovered for 6-7 minutes.
Remove, garnish, serve and eat!!!!!
