HUGE THANKS to ExpressVPN for offering all Food Ranger viewers 3 months free and 49% off their yearly package using this link: ExpressVPN.com/Thefoodranger . Travelers need ExpressVPN to stay safe online and to unblock any site. I personally use it for Netflix, even while at home in Canada, but also while traveling to unblock content and episodes that are geoblocked, and I also use it for security, because airport wifi and hotel wifi is often very insecure, leaving my data vulnerable. By connecting to one of their servers around the world, it’s just like my computer or phone is in that location, and all data sent while connected to their VPN is secure, safe, and private from others to see, so I know that my data won’t be hacked or looked at by others. Thanks so much for watching, and we have tons more videos coming up for you! Please leave me a comment below letting me know what you thought about this episode, thanks so much!!!

Hi, first, I've seen pretty much all your vids. I love seeing the food that you show us, but I hope you could share your thoughts about weather or not China's unique food culture will be affected when the global pandemic is over. Do you think that china may be forced to implement new hygiene measures. And would that affect the economy of the big chinese food markets. I'll be gutted if it does as I would love to tour china like you do and try new foods. You have my dream job.

Wow Trevor how do you decide to go to a region where the majority don't even speak mandarin, lol. Im impressed by your braveness.
@zuzu56837 жыл бұрын
MAxwell Yin That is mandarin, no such language called chinese and most of them do speak mandarin. Every province and even city in china has their own dialect much different from mandarin. In country areas older people usually have trouble speaking Mandarin. The main purpose of using Mandarin as the official language is for ppl around the nation to be able to understand each other. e.g.people from Beijing can not understand the Shanghai dialect, not even a bit.
@maxwellyin97947 жыл бұрын
Hi, what you said is absolutely true for the most cases, but expect Xinjinag and Tibet as far as i knew. Uyghur and Tibetan people have their own languages, not just a dialect. In bigger cities of those provinces mandarin is still widely spoken, but in rural areas that Trevor been to, people are less educated and majority of them really don't speak Mandarin.
@MsJerkinbabe7 жыл бұрын
Mike S someone is mad
@hcui74566 жыл бұрын
not exactly, as long as you stay in the cities in Xinjiang/Tibet, Mandarin is absolutely fine for the regular communications. As for the rural area, it`s a completely different story.

The way he looked at Trevor was weird and he stayed too close to Trevor. But he might be just curious.

I can assure you he was just curious about Canadian money we don't see a lot of Canadian there i know it's rude though

Great video and amazing food. Wish we would have known about you last year. We spent 5 months between Alati and Beijing, filming and doing a lot of eating. Would have been fun to meet up and eat. We enjoyed being shown how to prepare a goats head in Kanas, Xinjiang.

Saudações do Brasil!!! (GREETINGS FROM BRAZIL!!!)

That guy in the end seemed shady... Nice to see he didn’t throw you off your game! Great video, thanks!

It’s more than affordable for such a big bowl of lamb meat. For who grew up eating this type of food, I can’t stop my saliva throughout the video.

Yeah but the fact that it's made on a dirty street uncovered with flies around in the middle of a polluted city in the world's most polluted country.... but the fact that he double dipped is what made it gross.

Maurice Hendrix Hey we cant all be clean forever. You have to live life to the fullest and experience any atmosphere be it super clean or very filthy. You miss out on the joyful aspect if you refuse the entire opportunity.

It's not real Chinese street food if it didn't violate at least 10 food safety regulations.

a large amount of western Chinese people can't speak Chinese(mandarin). So it makes sense some of the guys in the vid don't reply or reply kinda slowly to James. It's not rude. it's just language problem.

That's why they should learn to speak English like the rest of us. Trevor should use English and not try to pretend to speak Cantonese.

Shady guy toward the end. He was deciding whether to rob you or not, Trevor. Gotta be careful when you travel since you stand out to the locals.

Nah - the guy was just chilling at the stand eating his own meal. I think he was just making conversation and was curious about what currency they used in Canada - he might never have spoken to a Canadian before.
