I'm a US citizen currently residing in Shenzhen. When the US sanctioned Huawei, I determined that my next phone would be a Huawei, and six months ago I bought a Huawei Pura 70, and its the best phone I've ever had, even better than the iPhone! I also now own a Huawei router, and its the best etc. etc.! Their HarmonyOS-based laptop will be my next laptop.

In hardware, the US govt doesn't allow Huawei to use CPU chips that are designed by Huawei itself but fabricated by Taiwan's TSMC (not even a US company!) and the memory chips from South Korea's SK Hynix or Samsung (again not even US companies!). In software, the US govt doesn't allow Huawei to use the Android OS and even the Google framework service ( this is a very serious blow to Huawei's overseas phone markets because most of international users use Android and Google apps). And the US still thinks these bans are not enough and pressurizes other countries to dismantle Huawei's telecom equipments by smearing it as national security threats. Never in history did we see a powerful country exhausting its national strength to kill a private company from another country so desperately. But Huawei still reversed the tide of killing adversity and stood up even more strongly than before. It now diversified even into the emerging AI chip sector and started to eat Nvidia's lunches in China.(Again, the US govt banned all of Chinese companies (not only Huawei) from accessing advanced Nvidia chips so Huawei was forced to work hard and they staged another beautiful rise in AI hardwares, too.)
