The simplified version is $61. Interestingly the traditional version is half that price.

I can imagine. unless ur gonna be based in Taiwan it’s a waste of time (and useless for Hong Kong since it’s still teaching mandarin)

Could be that you're looking at an older edition of the traditional character version.

Don’t know if you’d reply. But I just could not find an answer. So I want to know the difference between 3rd edition and 4th edition of Integrated Chinese.

Should I get IC textbook 3 or 4 and why? I was skimming through textbook 3 and the scope & sequence in it looks very similar to an previous edition (2?) of IC that I successfully finished. I'm wondering if it's a good idea to jump directly to textbook 4? I'm not the best at writing from scratch but I can 'recognize' read many of the characters. Would I be missing much? Does Text 4 pack a powerful punch or is 3 better?

SO much has changed from the 3rd edition even. All of the partner activities are new, which in my opinion is the best part. I'd only get 3 if you've already finished 2.

Based on your reviews, I will probably get bored faster with Living Language Chinese. I'm self-studying and I just finished lesson 5 of Integrated Chinese. The questions so far I've been able to figure out (or at least that's what I believe. lol) probably because they are still on the "easier" side. Although I'm guessing that in the later lessons will be much harder to figure out by myself.
