❗There is a pinyin mistake in 06:13 (word pair no. 11). The pinyin for 神奇 (magical) should be "shénqí". 🖍 If you don’t know yet, “shadowing" is a language learning technique where learners repeat what someone is saying with as little delay as possible. It’s not “repeat after me ❌”, but “speak along with me ✅”. Shadowing helps learners improve their listening comprehension, pronunciation, and fluency. It's particularly effective for developing an ear for natural speech patterns and reducing accents.

4th tone stands out because of its short and more sharp quality. The rest, especially in quick speech, people don’t pronounce carefully, but context helps, plus when speech slows down and in those places tones are spoken more carefully, it’s important not to confuse the listener by saying the tones wrong *in those audible places*.

For a second I thought I had completely forgotten myandarin. Studied abroad in college but that was 6 years ago. When she said each word I thought she was going to say each word on the screen and I couldn't tell the difference. I was like she is saying "orange" twice? Can I not hear tones? Then I realized she was just repeating it and I needed to guess which one 😂. Got it right but was worried.

You pronounce it clearly and it is not too difficult to discern it, even without context. And - you reminded me again that you are not only a very good language teacher, but a very intelligent young woman. But I wonder where did you find the word "ei" ("kan ei"). I could not find it in four different dictionaries/vocabularies.

I am soooooooooo tone-deaf lol 😭💔 I pause the screen before you speak, then match your pronunciation with how I'd pronounce the word: 4/20. Luckily with context my score is 19/20 so there's still some chance for me? 😅

Moim zdaniem, tony w chińskim są tak samo "przereklamowane" jak deklinacja w językach słowiańskich... W sensie, nikt Ci nic złego nie zrobi, jak coś źle odmienisz, a nadal będziesz dobrze rozumiany😀

Nope, tones are as essential as declension in Slavic languages
