the Bakelite or actually Phenolic furniture is painted. The color is often referred to as "baby poop". It is rumored that the paint was used for the harsh desert conditions. Great Build!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is a gem piece just a beautiful rifle excellent job man I love Chinese AK's I have a few myself my first AK was a Type 56 so I've always had love for them

I am from the Middle East and I can tell you that the Chinese type56-1 AK is one of the best 5 types of AK . It also has the best firing sound compared to others. (Sound matters in the Middle East 😂) The worst thing about it is the paint quality.

thats a very nice reweld, the weld discoloration are there but you gotta purposely look for it to see it under different angles of light. I wonder what's the story on the kit though? Vietnam bringback?
