I remember this series. This Princess got bullied and abused so badly I nearly stopped watching. One of the main reasons the parents tried over and over again to kill Princess Meili was the fact that they believe she stole Jingxuan from their daughter. If I remember clearly, he was never in love with their daughter and told her so and made it a point to show how he felt all through the series.

Yes she did. I believe it was the episode before the last one. She committed suicide to clear her name and prove that her son was her husbands. Her MIL preferred the other wife and believed that the princess" son wasn't her biological grandson and treated him unfairly. Her name & reputation was cleared.

I am kinda glad fl lead is dead just so she won't end up with ml, he did not deserve her at all. He believed everyone except her and treated her awful. Now I hope he lives a miserable life!

Me too. She should have voiced her desperation to the Empress dowager and covertly had an investigation done way before this. She knew she wasn't guilty of anything. The ML was a brainless 2-legged amoeba who didn't deserve or trust her. She should have married the general. The scheming chick is as bad as her dad and is laughable when she tries to look innocent and say she had nothing to do with Meili's death or situation. Yeah, right! That whole family should have been stripped of their wealth and status and that "heir" should have been stripped of that status as well and that status rightly given to Meili's kid otherwise he'll get bullied the rest of his life. As for the weak hubby, he dies right after a battle, and Meili comes for him. Pfftt! I wouldn't have gone. I would be in paradise with my family and the general. As for the MIL, she should have been sent to the cold palace for the rest of her life. She was part of the bullying and Meili's death. That whole family Meli married into was just awful.

I'm annoyed and confused with Jingxuan's delayed action...why only now he investigate the matter and other accident Meili encountered when she is still alive. His respond is very very very late and what is the point of doing it now she is already gone. Shit!! If he acted quickly before to know "THE WHY" so many accidents Meili have encountered, she will not suffered for so long. Now he preferred to follow Meili and leave his child orphaned.

It was right and good and healthy for his wife and daughter that he engaged in truly despicable crimes?, and encouraged them especially his daughter to expand on and benefit from his crimes? Even just before his arrest he was reminding her of the rank and riches she had gotten from the marriage (didn't bother to mention the benefits he himself had reaped as a royal father-in-law) and assuring her she could win the affection (and more sons) from the prince. (It is good to be grandpa to a possible future emperor.) A despicable person who deserved the death he got.
