from what I understand (and I could be wrong) at Chino Hills a lot of the students prefer playing in indoor but not necessarily also for the marching band. they don't have to perform with both groups.

They have a lot of money. Privileged kids have their parents put them in this school. I’m sure there’s a freshman in high school somewhere in the middle of a small town in Ohio that could smoke all these kids but he will never get discovered because he doesn’t have the resources. These kids are extremely lucky.

The vast majority of middle school music departments do not have the resources to provide teachers and equipment for a drumline. As you mention, Chino Hills is as good as it is because of how early the program starts building drummers in its pipeline. That is a matter of money.

It's a public school. we live by it. we weren't placed here by our parents, and we aren't flush with cash. There is no denying that we're lucky to be a go here. The only privilege is to be a part of this program.
