Here's some of the few garbage trucks that Waste Management of the Inland Empire runs in Chino. Despite having mostly newer "Think Green, Think Clean" garbage trucks, all the drivers in the city are extremely fast and are very fun to watch.
(0:00) - 103538: Back in July, we went to Chino to see what was working there now. We headed into the route area and quickly saw this truck with our buddy Scott Kennedy behind the wheel. He's a relief driver in Chino and also does bulk/carts/dumpsters over the week. It was great to see him in an Amrep as he sure revs the truck very nice! I've always wanted to see these 2011 Amreps revved hard so glad I finally got to catch that.
(3:40) - 264025: We were hoping to see the Condors in Chino, so Scott pointed us in the direction of where one was working. As we were headed there, we saw this beauty drive by and chased it down. Chino had Sylvester doing bulk for the day in their new frontline bulk truck. Previously, Chino had a Autocar WXLL/Leach but that was sent back to Moreno Valley and this was made their new bulk truck. Anyway, this truck looks amazing since I last saw it. Love the new rims and it honestly looks like Chino repainted the cab again.
(4:58) - 264024: Here's the truck we spent a good portion of the day looking for. We came back to Chino after hunting in Eastvale and finally saw this truck on Condor Avenue coincidentally. Really fun truck with a great driver behind the wheel, Jaime Razo. 20+ year employee who started out at Western Waste's Chino division and told us about the Heil STARRs that he used to drive before getting an ASL when Chino started getting the "Think Green, Think Clean" trucks. I could've watched this truck all day with how Jaime revved. It was very entertaining and I've always liked how these CNG conversions sound. Very smooth operation too considering Jaime drives an ASL regularly. On this 108 degree day, one thing I remember well was how I would get a nice blast of heat from the exhaust pipe every time Jaime revved and I was standing on the side of the truck.
(14:49) - 605131: We coincidentally stumbled upon Sylvester again in the cart truck for Chino while filming Jaime. Pretty neat way of collecting white goods and delivering carts.
(15:06) - 631560: Passed through Chino on the way to Corona on another trip and happened to see Scott in yet another truck! Old school ex-Western Waste truck that still has the old USA Waste of California logos on it. This is Chino's frontline dumpster truck and it sure looks neat.
Thanks to all the awesome drivers for letting us film & keeping Chino clean for over 20 years! Congrats on the 15 year extension - you guys deserve it!
