I have a friend that practically died from Covid BUT was saved by a double lung transplant from a donor. Literally gave this man life again and he is now 2 years post op doing well. That’s the miracle of organ donation and life 🙏 his donor also helped 80 others by her tissue donations to others.

Yes, organ donation saves lives. There was lots of misinformation on this podcast regarding organ donation. And with this platform it does more harm than they realize. I think before speaking on medical issues and sounding matter of fact, more research needs to be done.

I bought life insurance the month before I turned 25. 4 months later I found out I had cancer. I was so grateful to have had that in place. Insurances won’t give you insurance when diagnosed with cancer. I’m good now but wow I learned how important it is to have insurance.

Hello, Queen. Sorry but I have to disagree with you on "dog mom". I can see your point of view and I agree to an extent. I was 19 when I got Diagnose with PCOS and tock me 19 years to be able to get pregnant. during that time I used to get all the love from my dog. Now that I am a mom I could see how different things truly are. At that time I was doing a lot of things for my dog especially since she was ill. She was the closest thing I had as a baby and she did make me feel like a mom even though she is a dog. Maybe I'm not really explaining myself. But the point is that I do feel that ppl that have problems having children or even anyone that had a dog but don't have children Should feel like a Dog Mom!

I worked for a funeral home a few years ago, you’re spot on about getting or thinking about “getting your spot” even when we’re young. There are payment options unlike when a passing already happened & you definitely don’t need to pick your casket or anything like that. It can be left for the next of kin/family to decide when the time comes. Also a lot of people don’t know until you go through it. It’s definitely recommended to have life insurance, but having life insurance will not pay for the funeral/burial costs. You get that life insurance money after the funeral home sends over the death certificate which is after the funeral & in order to have a funeral, the full amount needs to be paid. Idk if I make sense but hope I helped someone 😊

Donating organs & donating ur body to science or for display are completely different processes. YOU choose which ones u want & u let it be known by registering to the proper agencies that handle each election. So if u just choose to donate organs, the hospital will determine which organs they could use, remove them, then they return the body for proper funeral/burial.

Selecting donor on your ID means that your organs are going to hospitals for people who are on the waitlist. They don’t send your body to random exhibits like the one in Vegas at least from what I know. University’s get their organs or body’s for research from donations as well but that’s a different process. You would need to sign up to willing donate organs or your body if you feel like the illness you have can help in their research. Like the body farm in the University of Tennessee people sign up to donate their bodies to aid in forensic research.

Our cousin had a bad accident and the doctors decided it wasn't worth saving his life as they could use his organs for others. Could he have lived? According to multiple doctors, yes. Was his quality of life going to be good? No, not the best. But who are they to make the decision to be like, let's let him die to help others live. I will never expect someone to say happy Mother’s Day to me for being a “dog mom” lmao. I think what the person who commented about her losing a child was trying to say is that you would think she would understand the topic about infertility etc. because of what she’s gone through (not comparing her losing a baby to someone losing a pet) so to rub it in that dog moms aren’t real moms isn’t necessary. For some, all we are able to have are our dogs and although it doesn’t compare to having a human child they still need love, affection, care, etc.

I commented cause I personally have seen family members post “happy Mother’s Day to me” and they are legit about it I’m sorry you chose to be in a same sex marriage and decided on having pets but come on asking for recognition on a holiday where mothers have came close to losing their own lives while bringing a baby into this world is crazy. Unless you have a child and see all the struggles that come with pregnancy/labor it does make it a bit cringe and weird for dog moms to want a cookie for having pets. Girl I'm HERE FOR THE GIRL MOM ERA!!!! my husband and I decided to stop after our 2nd daughter. It's not that we didn't want to try for a boy, but truly we thought it doesn't matter about boy or girl it would be 3 humans to raise! And we are loving life with our 2 beautiful spunky girls!!! A little late and a little long. My mom was found terminal with stage 3 cirrhosis of the liver in 2016 due to a failed transplant. She lived long enough to see me (her eldest daughter) get married and watch her all four of her oldest kids and her son's in laws all graduate. She passed on in 2021. During her last years with us, we kept the topic open of her funeral and what her wishes were in the end. Those included creating a welcome list of folks who was allowed at her funeral, my closest friend being the bouncer for said funeral, getting her cremated and buried with a sweet bay magnolia sapling. It even as far as to what 00's club songs and drinks needed to be played at her celebration of life (Momma was a club bunny back in her prime). She wanted her loved ones to remember her as she was when she was alive. On the other hand, we just lost my step father literally a week ago. Nobody saw this coming, nobody expected it. The family is apart, and nobody knows what to do in terms of funeral arrangements or burial placement or come to any agreement on how to handle anything. I don't know if there will be one. Moral of the story goes, talk to your loved ones about death and what your wants are and get that mess taken care of. It doesn't matter if you are 18 or 100. When you get called home, that's it. As awkward as it may be, it's better to be prepared and in the end your family will appreciate it. In the end, it's your final party might as well plan it out now.

Organ donation- look into it. The process they will not let your family know or see you before donation process starts. They will hurry and process you for organ donation. So your family might not get final good byes

The only thing we know for certain in this life is that we’re all going to pass eventually. Leaving your kids, siblings, or family in general to deal with the stress, financial/emotional, of a funeral is selfish in my opinion just because you don’t want to face the inevitable reality. You want them to have to put up a GoFundMe or go into debt so they can bury/cremate you?

i’m coming from the last episode just cause comments are off but i have pcos and from august 2023-may 9th i gained 40 pounds and i was at my highest weight but didn’t qualify for ozempic because my levels were fine and everything but my doctor prescribed me to phentermine and i started it may 10th and i’ve lost 12 pounds with it and they just upped my mgs but it has helped me to loose weight and it is something that i struggled with with loosing weight due to my pcos and i go to the gym everyday but nothing was working and this medication has worked for me so much !

I wasn’t legally married with my husband and by law in Texas you are considered married if yall lived together more than 6 months . I was considered his wife and I made medical decisions and funeral arrangements for him since I was his “wife” .

Being a donor is a great noble thing, but it’s something you should tell your family to do. If you agree and are written down as a donor they can take your body even disconnect you to save your organs and leave your family with a lot of trauma because it is being done with out their consent. I suggest getting off the donor list and having an open conversations with your family so once they are ready to let go and your organs can be donated it can be done.

My cousin found out she was pregnant at 34 wks and they told her it was a girl so we threw a princess bby shower for her and bought everything for girl and she ended up having her 4th son. I let her borrow my son's newborn clothes till she was able to exchange everything.
