I’ll have a Daredevil story where Matt struggles with depression and his consequences. How original. With philosophical themes of catholicism, darkness and inner strength to not be evil. Daring today are we! You’re daredevil videos are my favorite I’ve learned more about the character from them and he’s easily one of my favorites.

It’s through this video that I’ve learned something about Daredevil. Out of all the characters from Marvel and even DC, Daredevil is one of the rare characters that has had the most consistency, Every new run of a Marvel or DC character tends to start them to basics and just tend to brush off major changes and development from a previous run (with a few exceptions). Daredevil by contrast has Matt Murdock moving forward with each run, even Mark Waid’s more light-hearted run still has his depression take in from previous runs. Not say Daredevil hasn’t had his bad moments (*cough*Shadowland*cough*), but I like how each major writer on DD since Miller has tired to actually develop him in his ongoing story. Great video once again Matt. Darecember gets better with each video.
@zemox25344 жыл бұрын
That is what I love about DD. The consistency.he has one of the best character arcs in comics, with each writer adding something new,but never straying too far from the core themes of Matt and his world.

Shadowland was worth all of the pain if only for that image by Crain of Ghost Rider and motorcycle riding whale to Japan to fight the Hand. lmao Love it!
@ammar-nx8sg3 жыл бұрын
I agree with this heavily. The trend of writers building upon each other goes back to even before Miller came on. Isabella, Wolfman, Shooter, and McKenzie all kind of followed each other and built upon what they did. Lee and Thomas' run were kind of different, but Conway's was very much in vain to the aforementioned writers so you could count him too. And another duo after Miller, Kelly and Kessel.

True Im really happy that his runs are actual consistently well written

Not only all that, but in my experience, Daredevil is probably one of the easiest long running characters for people to get into. You really don't have to read anything else besides Daredevil. Yeah, there is the Defenders team up and the King In Black tie in and the recent story with everybody teaming up to fight the Kingpin, but 99% percent of the time, you really just need to read Daredevil.
@pudlordtynan9194 жыл бұрын
I've been reading this trade to trade, I love every penciller, inker and letterer that brings Zdarsky's (who I call Chop Zodongo affectionately) scripts to life. Daredevil earns his name in this run, a man without fear, a real Daredevil! I, as someone who grew up in Ireland, can relate a lot to Matt's mountains of Catholic guilt, and seeing him fight through it to still be a hero is inspiring.
@JusRed484 жыл бұрын
Daredevil may be one of Marvel's and the comic industry's happiest accidents. I think because he's not seen in the same mainstream importance as your Batmans, Supermans, Spider-Mans and X-Mens, editorial isn't watching over this character and the writing given to him with a magnifying glass but as a result we have a character who has rarely had the bigger universe around him dictate how his story plays out and writers are balancing a mixture of succeeding the last run with what was established and building their own new ground and it's given us a comic character that has overall, perhaps the most consistent high-quality runs in history. His series is a shining example of how you can continue a comic with little to no reboots hard or soft (there is a single major retcon in the last 20 years of Daredevil), minimal renumbering, and the cherry on top is that you still have high quality writers that want to take and do take up writing on this book simply because they enjoy the character. The current Daredevil run is one of Marvel's top series on store shelves right now and certainly one of the top comic books you can pull period.

I’m constantly blown away by how much people praise this run. But it may be an indication of my long years as a daredevil fan, and perhaps this is just something for the younger generations that haven’t read all the previous arcs. It’s pretty much taking all the best things that previous writers have done, retelling it and adding a little bit of his own thing to it. (Kirsten McDuffie is the best DD gf. i hope they stop killing them off.) it's the logical conclusion after he finally self destructed. he's teetering that line constantly, i feel like. they'll probably continue this with Elektra as daredevil. putting a spin on daredevil's struggle with his dark side. that being said i hope Elektra gets to beat the shit out of bullseye.
