Hi Daniel, I'm so curious how you can be down $1M on the week and not tilt or stress it (beautiful environment aside)? I get that you know you are making the right poker decisions. But, from a financial standpoint, do you work out an acceptable variance, rooted in a defined risk profile? And, doe it relate to broader risk tied to your capital gains at all-time stock market highs? One of the reasons I ask is many gamers and gamblers, even as it relates to the sports card market (my channel), take considerable losses, consistently, absent broader financial planning. Plus, they incur an opportunity cost by not simply tying their earnings or wealth to the S&P, as opposed to tilting their money away. Add to this mental illness, etc., and I just don't see how ppl, unless they are exceptional professions over the long-term, don't really get hurt, including hurting their families. I ask because I know you are one of the best professionals in the history of the game.

It is actually the diametric opposite of ppl imagining having Daniel's upside, and not the downside that the vast majority of River People (per Nate Silver) incur. Even Daniel himself went bankrupt early and often in his career. It is about how Daniel now is more like the Village (again per Silver) in how he manages risk. Subsidizing certainly speaks to this. But, I am curious how Daniel now manages both the variance professionally and the capital gains more broadly, including even tilting? Does he do his own financial planning? Has he ever worked with sports psychologists? Does remuneration from social media and endorsements offset risk? Mostly poker players speak to winnings and the chip counts, not the sunk costs and broader financial planning, or steady returns. I'm curious about that strategic overview, far less than chip counts, solvers, or nominal numbers in a vacuum. This way even beginners can avoid the real risks of living on the river, not in the village. Which for most ppl ends up being a phase (and culture) in their youth, when they can afford an untenable risk tolerance.
