Thumbs UP!!!!!! I had chipmunks eating my hybiscus buds and my gardinia buds.....it was WAR. I tried this method and I had 1 within 5 minutes and a second in another bucket within 10 minutes. In the last 24 hours I have caught 11 chipmunks and I now see none in sight and my buds are just fine. I put alittle peanut butter with some seeds stuck to it going up the ramp and that worked even better. Thank you soooooooooo much for this. My husband had tried the teater totter and the beer can on a coat hanger. ..mmmmmm nothing.....so I WON and am so happy ..... May they rest in peace ..... I said a prayer while I put them in zip lock bag.......

Awesome trap. Thanks for the videos! We've been terrorized by chipmunks digging holes in the lawns and gardens, eating the flowers, etc. I got back from a garden store a half hour ago with some black oil sunflower seeds and a small bag of peanuts in the shell. I put two traps together in five minutes, sprinkled the sunflower seeds over the water and set the traps out, one in the front yard and one in the back. I took the advice of another commenter and placed a few peanuts in a "triangle" in the center on top of the seeds so I know if the trap's been disturbed, but within five minutes, I had a fat chipmunk checking out the front yard trap...and plop! In the trap! 10 minutes later I looked out the back window and found a second eating the seeds on the ramp for the back yard trap....then he got greedy and hopped right in. Splash! 2 chipmunks in minutes. Now the ramps are re-seeded and the peanuts placed strategically...time to find out how big a colony of "cute rats' I'm dealing with. Thanks again!

This trap worked within 30 minutes!!! I almost had him within 5 minutes (no exaggeration) he was hanging on by one foot then got scared and left. Got him the second time he came back. Thanks man!

Put the trap out 4 times. Caught 3 chipmunks and 1 mouse. I thought I only had one or two chipmunks running around and put the trap out for shits and giggles. Seriously best trap.

So thankful to see this post. I was so stupid this morning. I was trying to chase a chipmunk out of my deck, but forgot to close the door. And the little thing came into my house. It ran too fast and I couldn't catch it. I was in panic. I know it was trapped in one room. I will try this now. Cross my fingers to see the chipmunk will be caught. But, what if I see more than one is drowned? Hmm... 🤔

I thought chipmunks were the cutest thing...until I bought a house and they chewed the insulation and some wires. I'm going to try this bucket today!!

They are very cute. It’s sad to have to remove them this way.
@ROCKETS29654 жыл бұрын
The people disliking drowning them have clearly never had their lawn overrun by these. They punch holes everywhere and tunnel during the winter, killing the lawn. That's if you're lucky and they don't nest in your car or walls.
@houlyn3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, $7,500 of car damage right here.
@heavysnow72 жыл бұрын
What's the symptom if they nest in the car? 😳
@lookoutforchrisАй бұрын
They’re very cute and I hate to have to use this method but one built a nest in my engine, one got into the cabin air filter box and died there, stinking up the car. They also chewed through an abs wheel speed wire. Another one was getting behind the siding of the house. They’re tunneling in the mulch beds and under the house porches. I’m worried they’ll screw up the porch footings or dig tunnels under the patio leading to cracks. I have no attractants in my yard except for maple trees that drop seeds in the fall. But given the damage already and the potential this trap is what I’m using. I’ve caught 2 so far in 2 days.
@lookoutforchrisАй бұрын
@@heavysnow7they eat your wires and then your car doesn’t work. Also they die inside parts of the car and start to stink.

I let the chipmunks be until this year when they started going after my garden. This trap is working amazingly well. It is to the point that whatever is eating the buried ones is catching critters (moles/voles) and leaving them for me. Thanks for sharing this.

DIG HOLES TO BURY THEM BEFORE YOU CATCH THEM. Also had to cover burial site with firewood because a critter was digging up the dead chipmunks. My heater in my crawl space quit working last winter and my service guy said rodents chewed up a piece on it causing it to quit working. Hate to kill anything but they did that and were digging up some newly potted plants on my deck. I said a prayer over them.

What do you do once they’re in the bucket? In many places relocating them is illegal. If you are caught driving with a trapped animal in your car you are treated like a poacher. It’s also illegal because they can carry disease and the act of relocating spreads disease faster through the population.

They are very destructive if you raise food. They eat every berry in our patch before they can even ripen. They will dig up seeds that you plant.
