Secret to jasmine rice is - it uses different proportions. 1 part rice to 1.5 parts water. 20 minutes in a lidded pot. Do not add salt. Also - pro hack: when done fluff with a fork, replace lid and let it rest 5-10 minutes. Rice needs to rest just like steak and bread. It’s the best tip;) Enjoying the show:)

I always use 1 part rice to 2 parts water, bring it the boil for about a minute, stir, cover the pot with the lid and turn off the heat. Leave it on the hot plate for about 20mims. Stir it up slightly to fluff it and you are good to go. Never fails. I must mention though that I use a good solid base pot on an electric stove, not gas. Not sure how it would translate to gas. I also usually use Basmati rice. Great video as always. Thanks 😊

As I said before, it is not difficult for Tristan to elevate a dish of a fast- food chain by home cooking. To make a fair comparison, imo, you should have a reference from a simple, authentic family restaurant or from a stall of a food market/fair. He did a good job though. And I do appreciate his remark about the showing off-ish technique of cutting avocado. Also admirable to be candid about the rice. Comparing rice for different cuisinés can be as useful as a ricecooker (uncle Roger isn't a pro cook/chef 😅). Thanks for sharing your Chipotle challenge.

Chipotle is my GO TO spot, less than 2 miles from my house. I don't do McD, BK, Wendy, etc. any more. Chipotle or Pollo Tropical (are they in AZ?) are my 'Fast Food' joints...so much healthier & yummier. Aaron, i think Smell-o-Vision will exist in our lifetime in regards to that bowl of fresh herbs. Final results: Tristan's looked 10x more visually appealing. Anything homemade is better
@Brenda-f9y2 ай бұрын
I never really have been a fad of Chipotle. Their food has just never appealed to me. I also can't have fajitas but it did look good. I have severe acid reflux and all the different bell peppers causes it to seriously kick in. Thanks for the advice on what to switch Cilantro out with too. I had it once and yes it tasted like soap to me so didn't like it anyways but I also apparently am severely allergic to it so I definitely can't have it.

Home cooked meals are always going to be better than the actual restaurant meals especially if you make it your way so you can’t really judge the restaurant food compared to your own home cooked meals
@sammidouglas23432 ай бұрын
You should do some polls on Instagram of random food items that Aaron and Tristan have to make a meal you know kind of like that show that has random ingredient basket. Do like 3-4 items on each poll so like anchovies, pineapple, eggplant on one poll another one couple be a protein option chickpeas, steak, chicken and then maybe another one or 2 random ones so you have enough to make a meal. You could also do one that’s like repurposing stuff you may have in your freezer that you don’t have a lot of or aren’t going to eat like the frozen spinach pizza aura picked out for the boys maybe turn it into something new. Apparently I have ideas lol but I think the polls would be really cool it could even be a series of videos with new polls once a week or 2 times a month
