greetings from Birmingham England, and a huge thank you. I have just spent an hour or so employing the techniques demonstrated in this video. No the outcome isn't as good as yours but as a first attempt i'm pretty happy. The last time I messed with the styrene was 45 years ago. I came across one of your videos a couple of months ago and was instantly 'hooked'. Your enthusiasm and passion infuse one with a desire to do the same. many thanks

This is great. While watching this I chipped and streaked my first Panther. I used your suggestions and discovered a couple on my own along the way. Winter in Montana can be long. I have 48 German tanks of various configuration from WW2 forward. 12 American and 5 Soviet. All in 1/35 scale. Got plenty to keep me busy.

Why doesn't the enamel thinner disolve the acrylic color that you used to paint the chipping?! Is Tamiya X-20 suitable and what do you do if you don't have dedicated "washing" colors?
@gofuckyourselfyoutube69146 жыл бұрын
Don't think enamel thinner will dissolve acrylic from what I've read.
@mechachrist6 жыл бұрын
You'd think something strong enough to dissolve enamel would destroy acrylic, but apparently it doesn't. Acrylic paint is much stronger than it seems.

Hi. Not sure this is still monitored or if anyone can answer. I paint with arcrylic then coat with future as a gloss to allow for panel lines/washes to flow. But is the polished surface from future helpful when performing streaking with an enamel? Or would a more matte surface from testors be better?
@vasili12076 жыл бұрын
Great results. Can we expect a panzer grey version, as its a darker colour not sure how well this process would translate
@AndysHobbyHeadquarters6 жыл бұрын
Yes
@yewdruuloo24046 жыл бұрын
When color is darker you need to make it lighter just to see details on the model. Nearly all panzer grey colors are too dark. You can mix it by adding to white blue and grey
@Bloodyfist776 жыл бұрын

I have 1 1/16 Jagdtiger with 3 colours camo scheme. I normally do a layer of dust on it so the colours contrast gets a bit weaker. Should you do the chipping and stuff before that or afterwards.
@Austrian-Painter-886 жыл бұрын
Hi Andy, I have some of the Vallejo streaking grime washes and I am wondering, are they okay to use in place for when you use the Mig streaking grimes? The Vallejo is acrylic whereas Mig is enamel, will this make a difference? And as for quality of the products would you recommend one over the other? Mig products are hard to find in Australian (Queensland anyway) hobby stores. Ps, The little bit you say at the end is so damn true! Modelling is supposed to be fun and the more people we can get in our hobby the better :)

I used silver To do scratches, is that a good idea?
@yewdruuloo24046 жыл бұрын
Jason Bayer Sometimes yes but mostly not because steel rusts and you won't see any silver spots. You can use silver in places where two metal things rub together and rust has no time to appear. For ex. between tracks and the wheel or sprockets.
