As can be seen in this video, this is how it is very important to learn from a senior Sifu and not from a student who is made an instructor in a Wing Chun class. The Sifu, just as the one in this video, is very humble polite and encouraging, but a student instructors are usually seen as brash and arrogant and they actually harm to learning process of a student.

not in all of his demos but yes in some. he called it 'Nim Lik', and there was a tangible 'flow' of something that could be felt by us when touching him

Very cool! It looks similar to the stuff we do in silat. Towards in end he says "there's nothing you can do" seemingly referring to his use of internal power to keep his opponents force out and cover his drive forward, my question is does the course cover how to counter internal power, how to deal with opponent has the same or greater internal skill, or is this more of an introduction to just the internal method?

Hi Ken, that's very interesting as I've heard that a few times re the similarities with Silat. I think the kicking is also very similar. Re the Online program, it starts from the beginning and covers everything in the whole system. It's literally hundreds of hours of videos and it took 5years to put together 😅 The videos are set into weekly lessons and they cover the forms, and many other solo training things for cultivation of the internal method, and striking, techies and partner work. It covers how to deal with all kinds of forces be they brute or internal.

@Mindful Wing Chun for some reason I just got this notification today. Thank you so much for the information! As far as the kicks go, it kinda depends on the style of silat. In the style I learned, we mainly use our legs to trap, trip and spear the lower body. I've seen some silat styles that have more kicks than Tae Kwon do, if you can believe it lol

I've watched you on KZbin for over 10 years. grateful for all the videos you've shared over the years. but quite frankly I'm sick of all the talking and demonstrating of force. I'm not coming from a place of disrespect but they say a picture is worth a thousand words. If only there's a video of a real fight or sparring using this power. would really save alot of talking.

why hasn't internal Kung fu ever been proven in the combat sport world such as UFC or any competitive kickboxing league? I've practiced CST WC myself since 2007. I'm not here to start an argument. But simply wanting to start a civilized discussion and search for the truth. my opinion is fighting outside of the internal Kung fu view mostly depends on Size, weight class(power) and athleticism. speed and weight most of the time equates to power. and power and agility usually lead to fighting advantages. I'd call myself a believer of internal Kung fu, but I'm also a realist. There are so much delusion in world. it's hard not to question the legitimacy when there are hardly ever been anybody that I've seen who can use the relaxed force and apply them in MMA

Ok MMA is not new to martial arts. Honeslty its Kung Fu. Kung-fu has already done things like mma 100s of years ago until the Chinese government put a stop to it because people were dying from these real fighting contest and it was causing too much problems with clans. Wing chun was very successful with those contest and so were other arts. But after the government of China would jail or kill those teaching that kind of art, those teachings died down with it. So their are very few today who can do or even practice for fighting. Its much easier to train the physical body to be strong and have endurance through physical attributes then to train for years internal and some or most never reach a level of mastery. When someone does train internal it actually calms you and you actually done want to fight especially you don't want to hurt others. But when you train the physicality of martial you are more physical and it trains the mind to want to fight more then the other.. there so much more but thats one of the main points

There is a reason every culture developed some form of boxing or wrestling, they work! Great example of ancient mma, pankration from the greeks! Its good to be questioning things and not following bindly! Even in mma there have been representatives from judo, jiu jitsu, boxing, karate, sanda, muy thai, sambo, wrestling, and tae kwondo who have done well at the higest levels. Wing chun has trouble competing even at the mostly amateur leagues. I would like to see a wing chun representative succeed and run a train! However before that wing chun needs to self reflect and ask itself, how can we train more effectively or what are some things we do that get in the way. I mean all of this respectfully.
