Although Pyrrhus has shielding synergy, both scipio and sargon activate shields to play into that synergy. It can be interesting if you compare him to others season 1 commanders. No way for him in late game looking this meta with a lot of skill damage and huge debuffs 😅.

What would be interesting to see his how he performs compared to Leo both in murderballs and 1v1 as Pyrrhus right now is the seeming alternative (and economical choice to save universals but still expand a roster) as secondary to Guan, Scipio or Sargon going into SoC if you're looking to crank out marches and save sculptures. He's the placeholder/filler that Mehmed is, just specifically for infantry and he's still missing 1 relic. Just seems he'd do better with his kit than Leo would as more of Pyrrhus skills apply to pounding targets & catching stray AoEs than Leo does until below 50% (where then you still need to be targeted where as Pyrrhus does not).

Always difficult to ascertain the value of a new commander. Dueling is generally how we try to get a sense of it. However there are elements of actual game play to be considered. Dueling is not a part how fighting is done KvK. Most fighting is done with very short engagements where maybe you get to skill cycle and maybe you don't. The normal attack could be a bit underrated in an era of rapidly creeping skill damage factors. Also, using the best dueling pairs as the test conditions probably doesn't give a player a strong sense of how practical a commander would be in the field or a rally. He does appear to fill a gap in the early game infantry rally portfolio. If you are in th early game he would be a fine infantry commander paired with Sun, Martel, or Alex in the open field, as all his skills are relevant for open field. And for rallies he could be paired with Alex, Martel, Mehmed, or maybe YSG. After early KvK it is hard to see how any commander that is lacks buffing, debuffing, and is single target is going to standout. Despite those shortcomings infantry mains who can't afford the meta will probably find a place for him in their open field balls.

Liu Che and his 2250 5 target aoe smite damage (which is buffed by normal attack damage bonuses) makes a Pyrrus pairing and his 40% normal attack damage buff field viable.

Pyrrhus was clearly designed to be used with early comms with strong shields. He doesn’t have any synergy with late game comms and definitely isn’t meta

Do this video again, with liu Che as secondary the normal attack bonus should be effective, and 20% normal attack damage when off territory is also good, boosting liu Che skill, not to mention the decent march speed making this combo fast on the field. In addition the extra basic attack will benefit the shield which Pyrrhus gives, and also this extra attack has high chance of happening when Pyrrhus active skill buff is acting making the damage higher. I think a 5511 Pyrrhus could be used up until SOC, and then paired with liu Che up until you expertise liu Che. Just my thoughts.

So you've now sorta answered the question: is Pyrrhus the next Mehmed. The answer seems to be no. A question not touched upon was; how good is he for early game/ kvk1&2. He needs to be compared to a bunch of orange 5111 marches or 5511 marches available at that progression or expertised purples.

In my opinion i think videos like these do more harm than good. Calling pyrrhus a bad commander because he doesn't stack up against end game commanders he was not suppose to compete with is bad. He is an early game commander not an end game commander. He should be tested in scenarios that he is actually suppose to function in, believe it or not many people pick up this game for the first time and if every youtube is screaming this commander sucks because hes not end game meta, you will make many new players think its not even worth picking this game up because its too late. Its simple to just say for end game play dont invest universal into pyrrhus however here is how he fits into the early game meta. Just saying nah he aint good cause nevsky joan or skippy zhuge boudica slaps him just aint helpful to anyone. Whales will max him regardless and f2p will avoid him out of fear because he cant take on the top nukes of SOC even though...thats not what he was design to do.

No one invests Gold Heads in KVK1 tho except YSG unless you are a whale. Also everything he said makes sense. Pyrrhus is just not a great field commander due to his overall kit that relies on single target only. This means that the only scenario you need to invest into Pyrrhus is when you are a whale that lead rallies.

That is not SOC where you have nuking commanders running around. He's absolutely fine early game, not gold head worthy but not terrible like this video is trying to suggest.

Pyrus however looks like a great early game commander as finally inf will have some damage early game. This video itself is rather useless.

As a T4 player fighting in KvK 2, I have to say Martel Sun performs way better than Martel Pyrrhus (5555 Martel / 5555 Sun Tzu / 5523 Pyrrhus). I do love Pyrrhus, in fact I've invested 150 ghs to make him 5511 in the first place. Sadly he is a single target with just decent skill dmg while Sun Tzu not only hit 5 target, but also a rage engine. He is only valuable in small scale wars, you benefits from his march speed and out of territory buffs. Also I feel like his expertise was such a waste of 690 ghs, 10% chance of 30% attack debuff with 8 second cooldown doesn't cut it.. If only Lilith could fix this and instead make his expertise enhance his skill dmg to 1700 (just like YSG), I think he is gonna have much more value by then.

I feel like pyrrhus is good as far as gold key comanders but like all gold key comanders after the kingdom opens they lose value every passing kvk that value plummeting pyrrhus as far as gold key comanders is great as martel is pretty good for skill or normal attack damage and this could be a pair or comander to help you save more in kvk 2 the big problem is so many skills only last 3 seconds and have a 8 second cool down if they were 6 seconds and phyrus is all about normal attack other comanders do all damage or skill damage its just better as for alex the museum buff is good but could be better if it was 3% or 5% to all damage reduction not only normal attack since season of conquest comanders main power is from skill damage i hope they nuff the museum buff in its lvl 2 becase alex is one of my favorite comanders

Unfortunately your sarcasm backfires here. The level of secondary commanders do not matter in Rise of Kingdoms. Once you've unlocked and maxed the skills of the secondary, you've achieved max potential from a secondary commander. Technically the secondary commander could be level 10 with all skills unlocked. Consider asking politely next time

only need skills unlocked for secondary commander, you don't need commander levels, or commander equipments at all. Only Museum Relic is still effective but the Pyrrhus relic is so underwhelming that you would not want to get it for end game.
