Look how pretty you are! That color looks great on you! Thank you so much for doing these stories! I *love* listening to them ♥This was an amazing story! Those were hard times but I think times like that build character. And yes...back then, it was normal for very young children to walk unaccompanied by parents. My mother used to tell me stories of how she'd walk to the movie theater to watch a movie by herself and then go back home at night. No way would that happen today. You'd probably never see your child again if you did. But you and Edna have some history between you. That's just really amazing. I hope you hear from her and see each other again.♥ Thank you so much for sharing these, Granny Pat, and for the little songs. So very sorry about your brother♥ Enjoy your cake and Dr. Pepper, sweet lady♥

What a wonderful story Granny Pat! I loved it. What the doctor said to you took me by surprise and I just howled! He is a funny guy. The war rationing and your friend Edna were touching. I wonder about many people whom I knew but have drifted off. Some of them I would just like to thank for being my friends or for different things that they did for me. My grandpa and grandpa (Mom’s parents) used to sing us the Froggy Went A Courtin’ song all the time & I haven’t heard it in years since they have been gone & I’m so glad to hear the words again! Hi Granny Pat. You look so adorable in your red and the glasses make it over the top. Wow. You are a pretty lady. I certainly listened to every word about the wartime history. It was a journey for each one of you that lived it and I am certain it was difficult. I bet you thought about your dear brother this past Veteran's Day. But as always, you also remembered the good times and telling about each one made your eyes glisten. I love your song from the Bing Crosby era. You have a great memory and a good voice. I loved hearing of your times with Edna. So happy you two are still the best of friends and keep in touch. I am happy you went to the doctor and got your ear checked. I like your doctor's sense of humor. Enjoy your cake and Dr. Pepper. Love you.😊❤

Granny, I so enjoyed this story about your coworker and how you crossed paths twice in life. I also enjoy every little descriptive detail as you paint a picture of Oak Ridge and your surroundings. I think my favorite part was listening to you recite some verses from Froggy Went A’Courtin’. Both my children enjoyed the song by Burl Ives, and the little golden books illustrating the entire song. Thank you for this sweet and happy memory. By the way, I played this video early this morning, tonight I was feeling restless and out of sorts so I I have just played it again, and all is well in the world. You do have a gift for bringing us into a place of calm, humor and comfort. I truly mean this. Thank you. One more thing: my husband just joined me in watching you, and I asked him, “ do you think we will be this sharp and will have her mental clarity to recall so many details of years past, when we’re 88?” “Not a chance!” he replied. Please keep entertaining us but also educating us. I learned so much bout life in the time period of the 1940s, the war, life back then. Again, thank you for sharing of yourself with us. ❤
