Chivalry 2 Is Amazing But NOBODY PLAYS IT

Chivalry 2 launched only on epic games for its first year. Which really affected the player count for pc because the epic games launcher is horrendous.

Epic for a year, unresolved gameplay issues and lack of content are the real downfalls. I think a lot of people play for a long time and get good, only to realize the hitreg is bad and the servers are questionable. Regardless, I still love it and play it almost daily.

Some of the most fun I've had, was while playing this game. From 1v1 lobbies where we all randomly charge archers, to Dodge ball with cabbage, to kick a king in the balls before chopping his head off, games got everything!

The game is way better than mordhau in terms of gameplay and design, but i can imagine one of the reasons people dont flock to it from mordhau is that mordhau's build and character customization is more complex, and progression isnt as stilted.

Completive players seem to enjoy mordhau more. The skill ceiling is much higher. Having over 3500 hours on chivalry medieval warfare as a competitive player I completely get it. Chivalry 2 is just more enjoyable and fun though.

Mordhau devs: Hey maybe some people can't dodge OR hold active block, in this medieval slasher? Must make the game better. And how about restricting healing as well while we are at it. If your ping is hogh you pretty musch can't play a melee class. Chivalry II also has better graphics and better maps and there are no lute players ruining the competition. Still plenty of shenanigans to be had.

I have mixed feelings about the game. They made an awesome combat system but did nothing with it. No competitive modes and no real rank system. Even when you lose a match you win the match because you earn stuff for losing instead of losing stuff for losing the match. Without a reason to motivate you to keep playing, the game gets old after your first 1k hours.

I just checked, there's more than 900 players on it right now ! Knoing there's only 64 players by servers at max then we have at least 10 servers full ! Really good point. We atopped played with friends because you are tired to find your friend on a map. There should be smth like in battlefield 5, up to 4-3 players in a party, and they can spawn on each other, or vote some spawning point

Medieval slashers will always be a niche market, its not free-to-play or pay-to-win and has a somewhat steep learning curve although much lower than Mordhau from what I've heard.

I just got the game and I think it's a lot of fun but I believe that the game is just full of sweats. I think people are getting tired of sweaty pvp non stop. I believe games nowadays should offer much more co-op pve content as well as pvp modes. The most fun I have is on Training Grounds where its 5v5 with 20 bots on both teams but it really lacks content. We need more maps.

Training Mode is very fun. The only thing that sucks is that I've gotten to a decent level (250ish) and going there just causes other high level players to go there. I like to just casually have fun, run around and shoot bots as archer or throw stuff. Not steamroll new players into oblivion. Then other high level players get matched in there and have ZERO chill on the noobs. Basically I try to limit my time there so new people can just chill and not get repeatedly stomped while they're still learning the basics. Seen multiple lvl 500-800 and even lvl 1000 players go there and speedrun maps. feelsbadman.

Let me tell you on a little secret. Most chilv players, myself included, don't give a shit about the launcher. Once in game, the launcher is meaningless. Another secret : buying the same game just to own it on Steam is dumb. Buying it on Steam is only worth it if you did not own it on Epic already. One more thing, there are LOTS of epic players and console players and we all play together, I play everyday and lobbies are always full. Just watching the steam player charts will not tell you the whole story, in fact its a rather poorly informed way of looking at the player numbers. The vast majority of players that keep playing are epic players, chiv fans that bought and play the game way before the steam launch. We simply care about the game, not the launcher.

and btw i have like 993 hours in mordhau and i had the best moment in video game on mordhau, a lot of fun, the overall comunity is very fun ( exept some in ranked that are toxic but its on every game), a lot of mods like lutemod that allows you to play like idk megalovania in duet with a random guy with the mod and more than 13 000 songs,or even a mod that makes the funniest face in gaming history. So you should try it, the game is hard but i love it.

Cause its so much more funny ngl. The voice actors for mordhau are phenomenal. Also you can literally make any kind of class you want, and aren't locked in to some dumb preset. The only lacking part of mordhau is the map design. The combat feels more fluid too, weapons actually feel like they connect in mordhau, with chiv its like people have no substance. Also, midi instruments.
